Re: Seat switch
I'm not sure why it's an issue? Was anyone really seat switching before? I mean I had considered doing it to avoid lockons, but the weapon one is too much work to really be an issue. The tank is harder to seat switch in, but the attack boats and IFVs can seat switch fairly easily. Given that we've a...

Re: Comcast Connectivity Issues
I usually just open a command prompt and run "ping -t google.ca" when I'm having spotty internet. There seems to be plenty of useful results by googling "ping logging".

Re: [Star Citizen] - Arena Commander and Hangar Patch Releas
Well I figured out that disabling SLI at a global level instead of application-specific fixed my problem, so I had some fun today. The 300i is so nice to fly :) I just need to stop over correcting. I find aiming in decoupled mode almost impossible because of it, I usually use decouple mode to flip a...

Re: The Ban list.........
Well I decided to have some fun with mines and slams again: http://imgur.com/a/wEutS Go play spot the mines/slams! There's a "View album in fullscreen" button that works well for this. I notice that thermals seem way better at spotting SLAMs than they did when I last did this experiment (2...

Re: The Ban list.........
While mines may share similar bugs to SLAMs they are far easier to predict and thus watch out for, so substantially less annoying. I feel like banning SLAMs is like banning PLDs/SOFLAMs: it can still be lockon hell, but it makes it less hellish. Also, are they still invincible, invisible boat killers?

Effective immediately dying is now considered exploiting. If you are caught dying during a battleday you will be banned.

My take was: servers still exist, you just don't have a server browser. So I guess if there's enough interest someone will make a new server browser?

Re: My firsttime GC feedback :)
Yeah, unfortunately I think DICE still hasn't fixed the "all unlocks" mode. Last I played it, it prevented commander mode and completely prevents using any battlepack attachments (no FLIRs, etc). So stuck we are. Good on you for working on your unlocks though. Everyone should aim to have a...

Re: Draft
Hey, Nacho! You will be placed in an army until Saturday at most. Welcome to GC! What he mrBLUE means is that you should be placed in an army before the battle on Saturday. We have already started placing people, but haven't gotten to everyone. If you somehow got missed, just come anyway ...

Re: Facebook buys Oculus Rift
With more time, and more reading of people's reaction, I'm still not sold that this purchase will mean negative design decisions in the near future. That said, I see two potentially big issues I didn't really consider before: Consumer support is down. VR tech as a whole would benefit from a good VR ...

Re: Facebook buys Oculus Rift
Based off what I see at work (IBM), growing startups usually get a clause to prevent the parent company from interfering. My guess? Facebook sees VR as the future of social media and hopes to build a better social media platform by getting close to Oculus. As for Oculus, it's too early to tell, but ...
