FRAPS is known to do that. If you want you can use something else like the MSI Afterburner, Playclaw (w/ awesome TS3 overlay), DXtory.

Try encoding your video and audio separately. Use BeSweet or whatever you have for audio.

Why not just plugin in the HDD into the SATA port? You don't need to have a DVD to install it. You canalso use WinFlash (free) to make a bootable USB drive from an ISO.
