Also, see if it came with a PS/2 adapter and try using that and see if there is a difference

I never really disliked Origin. Sure it has limited amount of games and what not but seemed to be a pretty functional and non-intrusive way (no pop-up ads and such) to manage your games.

Regardless of, will be exciting to see what's in store next!

It's pretty fun playing with friends and experiencing the new game play together. Somethings can get pretty confusing so maybe a single player game first to get you familiar with everything.

I can't really compare to vanilla Civ 5 because I only started playing it in G & K.

I agree with Cognito. I had a worse time on the NA server shooting people than the EU server even though I am in NA but I am not sure if this had to do with the settings or just my connection.
