Nice!

Been holding back on an upgrade for way too long, but it seems the HD 9000 series will be released only around October and no information about it.

yeah, but i don't know if thats 100% accurate. I see most games are promoting Nvidia as the best GPU to run with.

I disagree with you.If you look closer, you will see that more video games are starting to be more optimized for AMD including Battlefield 4 .

It might publicly promote AMD but behind the scenes they are fully cooperating with nvidia as well. At launch it might be better optimized for AMD but nvidia will quickly catch up

Do you remember what happen with Tomb Raider for Nvidia cards? And do you remember what happen with Metro:Last Light for AMD cards.I prefer AMD because the performance is pretty much equal and AMD are cheaper.

I'm sorry for you guys believing stuff like that, AMD can't fix anything these days! :D

I would probably have bought ATI/AMD alot because of the price, but the drivers they have is so bad that it's not worth it.
Back in the days you had to use 3rd party drivers because the original were so bad, that never happened with Nvidia.
Also the heat problem they had a while back made me lose interest in them, there has been to much problems with their cards lately, even if they are better in pricerange.

Don't hold grudges based on ancient cards. My first card was Nvidia. My new one is from AMD. The only issues I've come across in gaming have been problems that are common to both brands in a given game. AMD's drivers have come a long way (for single card perfomance, that is. Their crossfire performance is still incredibly inconsistent). The only thing I don't like is the catalyst control center. It looks like it was designed by a freshman software development student in 2003. Nvidia's control panel looks way more modern and user-friendly in comparison.

i disagree.
im not a fan of either, i had an Nvidia card that preformed well, and now got an AMD and im happy with it.
i bought them based on THG "best GPU for the money" article for that time & price.

im no longer pursue this (only catching up every 3-4 years when i need a new card), but it seemed to me that Nvidia cards have more power, but their drivers are alot less optimized then AMDs, giving out same performance.
Nvidia had drivers that claimed to bump 30% in performance for some games :o not sure how true though.

As for games - sure they work on both cards, but AMD and Nvidia pay game developers to optimize it for their cards.
not a big difference at all, but you can see on THG benchmarks that with "equal" GPUs AMDs perform better on AMD title while Nvidia perform better on Nvidia associated title. by performing better i mean getting 5 FPS more then the other card.
