What the Hell is the Draft?

Post by BRUMMIE »

The 'Draft'is like a playground pick. Its where the Generals get to start their armies from and it takes place shortly before the start of a new campaign.

Wellll, we've been playing BF2 since it rolled out, and before that, BF1942. At times we've had a hard time keeping 32 players on 32 going and balanced through the campaigns. So we introduced the 'Draft' god knows how many years ago, to keep the sides somewhat equal.

Each campaign we select 2 Generals. Most everyone else joins the Draft by clicking on that button over there to the left under the Members Menu and entering the required details. On a specific date the Generals get together with the Tournament Administrators (TA's) and do the pick. This determines the side the draftees will play on. Its not compulsory. You are free to join the side of your choice after the Draft is over and the Generals open up their sections of the forums. But the regular guys that have played here for a while enjoy the process. Remember we are friends playing friends. At this point most new guys won't know either of the Generals so why not throw yourself at the vagaries of fate and join the draft.

I missed the Draft- what now?

No problem - again just go to ABC under the Members Menu over there <-- on the left and join the army of your choice. On occasion if the sides become unbalanced one or the other army might be passworded. You would then have to pm the General of that army fo the password or we hope you would join the army that needs more sign-ups.
