new hardware found?

Post by Dax_inside »

Hi chaps

Ive just updated my graphics drivers and for some reason my system tells me its found new hardware even after ive installed the drivers properly.

This isnt the first time ive done this so im not quite sure whats causing it but the new hardware is apparently 'on' on x50xt graphics card. ive got the .net framework installed so im not sure what it is.

any ideas?

its video capture thingie (x850xt right)

first install wdm drivers (if u r not using "big" driver package and u can deselect wdm there too)
and then catalyst drivers

i would recomedn to dump ccc as its piece of crap

use ati tray tools instead for same and even more functionality

kill that vpu recovery crap and disable fastwrites

uhm, xp x64? bit different packages but it shouldnt be a problems

if u follow links u will get to table with packages, like

-Microsoft .NET Framework
-Display Driver, Catalyst Control Center <----- CCC
-WDM Integrated Driver

first u install wdm, then that display driver with ccc

there is only ver ATT for standard 32 bit sry :( )

in ccc u have options (dont know where exactly as i dont use that sry, but should be there)

what other settings should i look out for? ive never touched ccc before.

theres no version of ATT for 64bit windows

if u r using standard (32bit) ver of win xp then yep, dump ccc

vpu recovery option, disable that

Is this a stand alone video card or is it built onto the motherboard?

Nothing to it (found new hardware) but a little hint / tip:
try omega drivers with ati. they are based on catalyst drivers, let you choose to instal ccc or tray tools and all settings are done to give best performance.
works fine on mine (x850gto on amd64 with xppro)
