Battlefield: Heroes Released

Post by Goggles »

If you haven't played it yet then give it a go!

Don't forget to dress up as silly as possible, and chase enemies around doing taunts :P

It's a release, not an open beta... but when the game is free, it's pretty much the same thing.

I loaded this for my kid. After creating a character and going through basic training tutorial, we couldn't get online. Apparently, they could not match a newb to any game. Can you play without buying anything at the EA store? Or is that how they "get you"?
How can I find a list of servers?

if its matchmaking like l4d then I won't dl. I hate the matchmaking in any game (l4d, halo, anything) cause it normally sucks. give me a server browser (like you can bring up with console commands in l4d) and it makes it much better
woke up this morning, put on my slippers, walked in the kitchen and died

For Matchmaking:

I would make two characters, one for each army and of different classes. If you can't get matched with one character, jump over to the other character and you should get in nice and quick. At least, this helped me last night.

For Playing/Purchasing:

You can jump right into the action and not worry about buying anything. PinkAss would probably know this best, but here's how my limited beta/release experience sees it: you earn points as you level up and accomplish missions. Those points can be used to "rent" weapons available to your class for either 7 days or a month (I always do a month because.. well.. it's cheaper per diam). The real life $$ purchases seem to count more towards in-game costume items and taunts... or, rather, useless junk that I'm not sure why anyone would want to pay anything for.

I could be wrong, though :) Either way, I bet your kid would love the game Charger. It's very cartoonish and entertaining.
