It probably just changes your gmail password.

I finally received and installed BF3, but I need to change my Battlefield Name before I can join you.

Using the address above gets me nowhere these past 2 days (How did you manage?):

i tried and could get gravis without a number after it, so i gave up

Lets me log in, but yah, I cant use the ID I want (taken by another of my accounts in the previous EA store incarnations) so I'm staying with what I have.

Thank you for trying out this link and reporting the outcome. It is reassuring to know that the problem must have been temporary. I just tried and it worked fine and I was able to update my name.

I would also like to change my name but it doesnt allow actual dots.

It appears that Dareitus was able to successfully update his name to HumanSpeedBump in-game... so it works for someone
