Global Conflict News Episode 4: The Acronym Army / The Calm Before the Storm
Speedbump explains the O.E.C.D. response to Cossack occupation of Iran and Russia, and the events preceding conflict.

The O.E.C.D. called for an emergency meeting on May 20th, 2014 - less than 72 hours after The Red Cossacks began their coup. O.E.C.D. leaders declared The Red Cossacks an International Terrorist Organization, listing them as the number one threat to O.E.C.D. success. Retired General Brummie who led U.S. and Ally forces during the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts related the Cossacks to Al Qaeda.

"The Red Cossacks are a violent threat to peace, stability, and economic growth across the globe. Iran and Russia, like many nations, were considering planning on joining the O.E.C.D. helping us come one step closer to making the world a better place through unity. The Red Cossacks, led by Extremist Sushi, aim to disrupt, disarm, and ultimately destroy the O.E.C.D. by using fear, violence, and death to scare countries away from us. Just like Al Qaeda before them, the Cossacks are nothing but terrorists lead by insane extremists into doing horrendous things to innocent people. Terrorists supported by the Cossacks have already killed civilians in Iran, and Russian and Iranian emigration is at an all time high as innocent people flee their homelands for fear of Sushi's wrath. I, General Brummie, hereby volunteer myself to lead an O.E.C.D. sponsored military offensive against The Red Cossacks."

Following the General's speech a vote was called and the O.E.C.D. made it's first ever unanimous decision, electing Brummie General of the newly created military wing of the O.E.C.D. dubbed The Western International and Regional Armed Forces of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development or W.I.R.A.F.O.E.C.D. The long name has lead many soldiers to affectionately refer to W.I.R.A.F.O.E.C.D. as "The Acronym Army" or simply "The Acronyms." Don't let a silly name misguide you, General Brummie was provided the most advanced technology and finest soldiers available to the West. Members of SAS, KSK, Delta and the like made up the infantry groups, and equally talented Tank Commanders and Pilots provide Land and Air support. General Brummie named Major's Hitman, Winter_Lion and CountBelasarius all of which proved themselves during the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

Over the next 6 months tensions would experience roller coaster highs and lows between The Red Cossacks and the Acronym Army. General Brummie took an early focus to unit training, in an attempt to ensure his Acronyms would be able to work in the same cohesive manner the Cossacks had become famous for. Brummie knew his opponent would not go down without a fight.

The time was well spent, as General Sushi would spend much of this time quelling minor insurgencies among his own people. For every 100 men that supported Sushi and the Cossacks it seemed there was 1 that saw him as more madman than martyr and would have to be put down and made an example of. Sushi's influence across Iran and Russia did continue to grow, but his plans to disrupt the O.E.C.D. were subsequently put on the back-burner while he worked to solidify his hold over the East. Publicly, Sushi and the Cossacks had made little headway in gaining support from other Eastern Nations such as China, India, Vietnam and Korea. In secret, Sushi was actually making back-room deals, with Eastern Leaders pledging to unite with Russia in occupying the West should The Cossacks prove their strength by eradicating The Acronym Army.
