China Falls Alongside US
Communist Party of China dissolves after coup in Asia.
Just hours after the United States Government announced its unconditional surrender to DARK over its overnight takeover, the People's Republic of China broadcast its own message, declaring that "We the Communist Party of China announce, as required by unconditional surrender given three hours ago, that henceforth we have been disbanded as a political organisation."
Immediately following the broadcast a separate, previously-unknown Private Military Corporation calling itself PRIDe claimed governance of China and huge sections of Asia including territories previously held by the Russian Federation. Regarding the state of affairs in Russian territory, a PRIDe spokesperson said, "There are operations currently being conducted all over the world, and as the situation is still developing we are not able to comment at this time."
Speculation runs rife as to where and when these new PMCs were founded, as both were unheard-of until now. Both companies are privately-held, and the Globe's requests for information were refused by both organisations. However, one theory is that they were wholly-owned subsidiary companies of either Hitcorp or Kinetic Influence, and found their way to independence in the chaos following the conclusion of that conflict.
In related news, the UN emergency session scheduled to begin in two hour's time (as this article went to press) has been cancelled. Reports are coming in of leaders suddenly returning to their countries without explanation. It had been expected that the Security Council would pass the HATEPMC legislation designed to put heavy restrictions on PMCs during this emergency session, despite protests.
Related or not, air traffic continues to be in chaos after both it was declared that Chinese and American airspace is to be closed to commercial traffic until further notice. A DARK representative issued a formal statement and declined all further questions.
Reports are pouring in of airports full of people trying to get home into - and out of - the United States. The International Civil Aviation Authority has, however, been able to independently confirm that all flights within US-controlled airspace have been diverted from their routes. "There have been a large number of flights - I'm afraid we cannot release the numbers at this time - that have been redirected, on an emergency basis, from their approved flight plans in response to an emerging situation."We regret to inform you all that, effective immediately and until further notice, commercial flights will not be permitted to leave or enter airspace controlled by the United States of America. Selected flights will be authorised to carry essential goods and will be strictly monitored; we will be enforcing closure of airspace with lethal force.
This is a defensive measure and we regret its necessity. We apologise for any inconvenience, and thank you for your time.
