TDM/CQ don't give you the space and time to get organized. Random spawns plus tiny maps means almost guaranteed spawning into fire and no chance to or even really a reason to get a beacon down. When we played it in GC, people pretty universally complained that they just had no chance to get anything done before dying.

Tank Sup forces you to spawn at your base or on a beacon, which gives you control over your spawn. The size of the maps gives you the ability to plan. It presents a heavy challenge, as it slows the game down from what you're used to, but the game mode doesn't prevent you from overcoming it the same way TDM and CQ do.

There are larger maps in TDM than Noshahr. The only time I recall playing TDM was in the BFI. It was with 64 players on Kharg and that's obviously too much. However, in BO's we play with around 40 players and often with less, which TDM is perfectly suitable for, but that's a different topic.

The fact that you have only those 2 spawning options combined with the huge distances is extremely limiting for the infantry. Since you don't have that many buildings it means you either have to parachute down, wait for a ride from base which will take you somewhere, or run. Assuming you survived the drop/ride/run you still need to hook up with your squad mates or go lone-wolf. So at the end of the day you spend most of your time running or dieing, which are the same reasons many complained about other game modes.

People complained about CQ and it was taken out; people complained about TDM and it was taken out. People complain about TS and we're on its second campaign and the 3rd discussion page still trying to explain why this is a problematic mode. I honestly don't understand what's so great about it that requires that much effort.

Anyway, I think my position on the matter is clear, and I really don't wish to waste any more of everyone's time with my constant ranting. If that many people prefer to play this mode then so be it. There's no harm in waiting in the staging area till the round is over.

We can throw up a poll before next campaign to see if people enough want to ban it. My guess is that unlike TDM/CQ, the majority of people are at least willing to tolerate TS. This isn't really an argument from principle (I'm not trying to establish objectively that TS is fun), just empirical data: it's possible for most people to have fun in TS, so it survives. TDM/CQ made it hard for most people to have fun, mostly because you can't find a safe spawn half the time.

I believe alot of people were just unfamiliar with TS tactics. Reason why alot of people were confused. If there's a solid plan and organization between squads and leaders, I can see TS working.

Yesterday's TS games were my first TS experiences. I'm not an armor guy; I'm not familiar with TS tactics. But hey: All TS, all the time!

I need to improve my MBT and TD skills:

Seriously, I can see where having a strategy and tactics will be most beneficial. For me, it did devolve into TDM for Tanks. And when I was running Inf, it was "pray til i land" dropping in and then it was "Oh FRACK" that MBT/TD just blew me up. Good Times!

I agree that Tank Superiority requires tactics. It's just that it's not played much on GC and so, in my opinion, is still relatively new. That's why it feels confusing and like there's no preparation. It'll take time to develop strategies and plans.

ATM, I'm essentially working 1 full time job, 2 part time jobs and have 3 daughters at home that constantly require my attention. So my battlefield time is limited to 2-3 hours a week. I have always been a hardcore infantry player since BF1942. So it's fustrating when my only real gaming time for the week is spent in a tank. It's nobodys fault, it's just the way things are. I'm not talking about numbers, outcomes or maps with 2-3 tanks. I'm purely speaking about spending 2 hours, 4 rounds and 2 maps doing tank superiority during a 2.5 hour BO. I wasn't aware we were playing Tank Superiority during BOs. IMHO, Tank Superiority is the armor version of Close Quarters. So on a side note I'm not sure why we play Tank Superiority for the armor loving guys and avoid Close Quarters for the infantry players, like myself. If anything constructive can be taken away from this, it may be a good move for our community to specificy that BOs will not be infantry only. I don't believe I'm the only one confused by this.
Thanks to everyone that FC'ed and participated yesterday in the BO regardless of the play style. I hope attendance continues to grow for both BOs.
It's understandable, I didn't remember until yesterday that Black Ops last campaign actually was infantry only, but I'm guessing having Tank Superiority in BO now makes it less chance to get it during the "real" battledays.
I've been an infantry guy in BF1942, BFV, BF2, BFBC2 and now also in BF3, even though I try to learn more about the vehicles as well now.
I don't know when it was decided we should have vehicles for black ops this campaign but I might be because of the low number of participants last campaign that they are trying with something new (or old), to get the armor involved as well.

LC unfortunately you will rarely know what mode/map is going to be played on BOs, yesterday nobody from your army could know as it was KART's attack. :)

Everyone can start posting suggestions for next campaign, preferably in the Supporting members forum. The sooner we get input the more time we have to discuss and prepare.

Tank Superiority was played last campaign during Black Ops. It was played early on in the campaign, but practically never showed up again after the Christmas Break.

That's not true. We played it a couple times during EUBOs; idk about the NABO though, things there might have been different.
