Also I'm excited about their description of the 'China Rising' expansion pack. Four massive maps sounds good to me and gives me hope that BF4 is going in the right direction.

although i'll probably will buy BF4, their recycled advertisement methods doesn't get me into a hype mood.
if anything it lowers my expectations. seems like BF3.5 (BF3 mod): new textures and improved graphics.

Well yes, there have been a fair few 'features' which they have advertised that have failed to materialise. However they've always been fairly accurate with their descriptions of the expansion packs. They've all been exactly what was promised if I think through all of them.

Notice the missing PC platform at the bottom? And where are the recently announced PS4 and XBOX ONE platforms? Every couple of weeks a new fake poster shows up. I have no idea why.

This doesn't rule out a commander mode of course. I think I read somewhere that some form of a commander is considered although not as elaborate as in BF2. Unfortunately I can't find the source
