question to all who got and play bf4

can you play at all?
it feels for me I played the beta and got bummed like all about the fps roller coaster,
they reached out extra for our hearts and pockets and fixed that even during the beta.
I saw a new game with more fps and more stable for me than bf3 somehow.

bought the fcing thing and again after little time of play
its back to piece of crabs with fps going all the time from 64 to 0 like 80 yrs old on Viagra with hot 20 yrs old!
lagging all the way every server all the round. commander mode is fun cause the lag don't move me since I'm in one screen all the time dishing it out like a bouse with one click...but thats not all the game...

is any thing changed for you guys?
is a patch even looking at this is as a problem on surface fo fix for all?

Having just reformatted and reinstalled it, I'm still having trouble just getting the damn game to launch.

Odd. Because after the last patch (not the China rising one) the game has been flawless for me.

My game plays fine apart from occasional crashes.

beta worked wonderfully for me, rarely crashed and ran nicely at like 90 fps on all ultra with no AA/occlusion/motion blur, and got my hopes up that maybe, just maybe, the game would be wonderful.

release week was unplayable; stuttering and CPU spiking and memory leaks and such, and I was sad.

a week later the game played fine, wasn't getting the same FPS I got in beta, but the stuttering and CPU spiking was magically gone (after a clean install of video drivers and reinstalling the game), and I realized that BF4 is really a good game when it runs. I'm really looking forward to the game in the future once it's actually optimized.

Currently the game is a stuttery mess with the CPU spikes again, and I did nothing but uninstall a bunch of steam games so I could migrate to the SSD I'm getting for christmas, and I'm sad again. haven't played since the patch today yet though.

i will try sometime soon to reinstall the game, video drivers clean install...too much of that. did nothing.

today patch impressions so far:
- Sound loop/freeze crash still there.
- Servers still crashing.
- EMP blur gone.
- 1-shot-kill is gone. game is a little bit more fluent on that part. Still got de-sync issues with people killing me before i see them or behind walls and such.

EA patch notes started as "fixed server crashes", then turned to "fixed two of the most common server crashes", now its "increased server stability", next its just gonna say "server maintenance".

Haven't had any consistent client crash problems for several patches in a row now. FPS is still utterly weird and optimization makes no sense whatsoever, but it runs smoothly most of the time.

This about sums up my experience as well.

I haven't had any crash issues aside from the server side ones plus occasionally when I alt-tab in between rounds.

Most of the crash issues were dealt with for me by the first patch.

I'm still getting the stuttering though, and cannot stream BF4 (whereas I can stream every other game including BF3) without it stuttering to an unplayable degree. To even be able to play the game I had to unpark all cores.

FPS drops is the most annoying thing. I would get 120 fps on Locker, but then 50-60 on other maps. Like when I am on open parts of the map, the fps will drop....on the roofs of Flood Zone they drop immediately to 50. I thought it might be my video card but it seems a common problem. I guess, reinstalling the game is next.

I crash pretty often, but I think it's because I'm running older graphic drivers than recommended. I don't want to update to newer drivers untill the game itself is patched and more stable so I can be sure that it is indeed my drivers that are the problem, because I have problems with new drivers then but that's another story.

When playing, the game mostly runs smooth for me with my crappy hardware, but I do experience several random crashes. I still crash everytime on Shanghai map. The other crashes are mostly constricted to when maps are changing.
The so called "netcode" is still frustrating as hell... being shot behind cover and by people behind obstacles... but it is well known, so... guess one just have to put up with it for the time being.

Is that not always the case?, obviously when it is optimized better it will have a smaller effect but open areas will always have to render more stuff.
