Last we heard, developer DICE was ‘unhappy with server performance’ and the “rubber-banding” issues that a number of users have been experiencing recently.

“Looking into this further, we’re unhappy with our server performance, so we’ll be upgrading the hardware as soon as possible, investing more to deliver a better experience,” said Battlefield 4 community manager Dan Mitre earlier. It’s not guaranteed that these upgrades will be reflected in tomorrow’ updates, but it does seem rather likely.

Last October the BF4 Beta's purpose was to stress the servers...
7 MONTHS later, they are unhappy with server performance.

Do we really have to "understand" that, the October beta was to determine the potential number of buyers?

I still see posts of "have faith in DICE".
BF4 life cycle is 1 year, even if you don't believe that BattlePolice, the DLCs spread out for one year, its unlikely the game will be supported further, just like BF3.
Its been 6 month, half of the game life time, and we still have broken core mechanics like net code and the direction the player is looking / his muzzle pointing has nothing to do with the direction of the bullets.
Just fix those. I don't even talk about other problems like those giant invisible walls above china-rising maps, or those indestructible trees that are really easy to fix to the small stuff like laser misalignment etc...

I wasn't Dices biggest fan, i had some faith at the beginning, but it declined fast, and now its in negative values. I am really skeptic at this point they will fix anything. When are they going to fix it? economically it doesn't make sense to fix at the end of its life cycle, and it seems like these problems require quite an investment, so as time passes we'll see less and smaller fixes. At 50% of its lifetime, what is there to expect? a gold battlepack?
They say they are not done fixing, we'll, they are not done lying either (Executive Producer Patrick Bach).

The game was crappy for me when it came out. In BF4C1 I didn't want to play it except in GC. I haven't not touched it until it was clear there will be a BF4C2. The game is enjoyable for me now. The progress they made is HUGE.

Should they have released a less broken game? Yes. Should they have fixed stuff faster. Yes. Should they have a better community management (bah, what a bad term)? But Yes. Did they fix stuff? Yes.
Now you think they won't fix anything cause we are 6 Month into an 1 year live cycle. That's just a wild guess sold as a fact. I'm not into predictions, especially regarding the future. We'll see how it goes. Nothing to do with faith.

But if I had to buy BF4 again I'd do that, and I recommend it to friends with a decent PC. And I'm happy that I bought BF3 when it was well hung.

The progress that they made, from release, is huge. they fixed the constant crashes!
i agree.
however even in its current state its still at a very low standard.
If i had to choose again i would not of bought BF4, i'd keep playing BF3 and buy something that actually worth the money.
I don't have premium and i'm not planning on buying it until i stop hearing myself and others go "WTF!?" every single round.

Well that is just a server update. It usually only contains small fixes and there is no client update planned at all said a DICE dev on reddit

Dice dev said yesterday a server patch that will require client patch will be released today.
Two days ago sliced_lime said he doesn't know (which can be that he can't say) when the next patch is going to be released.
And few days ago alan kartz aka zhinto the asshole said they don't have an ETA on the next patch.
Either they are really out of thr loop, don't want to say "patch in few days/near future" as they wait for consoles approval or they just don't give a crap about informing the community.
Whatever it may be there is nothing to expect from them. And i do respect sliced_lime for his understanding and communication, its just that he can't provide any real info.
