Jet altitude bug FIXED on CTE.

PATCH CONTENTS
This patch includes:

Changed the FrameHistoryTime from 1.5s to 1.0s
This value is used in determining how much “slack” the server allows a client with packetloss to have. With this number lowered a bit to match the 30hz server send frequency – we should see even less deaths behind cover.
Deathshield fix
The Deathshield fix was not part of the CTE environment yet – now it is.
Obliteration Competitive mode
Added support for the Obliteration small competitive mode (servers coming)
Operation Metro 2014 exploit fix
PC-Client stability improvement
High Altitude Jet fix
A fix for the much reported jet altitude bug is in this patch (server side fix) as well.


Also, they're testing Obliteration small or also called Obliteration competitive small.

Im so glad this got fixed before game release. :roll:

My only question is why all those things still aren't being implemented on the main game? I heard only good things about CTE so far, and I'm really happy DICE decided to put this much effort on the game, but they need to transfer those patches to the main game asap!

I assume they're still testing things. They'll probably roll everything up and release a big patch toward the Dragon's Teeth release. Hopefully consoles won't hold back the update to PC. Not sure their infrastructure can support some of the changes such as the higher tick rate.

33% reduction on the framehistory slack? If that's true, I might pub again. Hopefully that doesn't impact GC too much and doesn't create other features in the game. Someone should tell EA they should make patches DLC.

Prepare yer a*us for a 15GB patch is on the way :lol:

I should ask around to see how heavy these patches are.

If they make the game closer to what it is in BF3,I'm with open arms and waiting for they gigantic patches.

I played a bit on CTE right now and the gameplay does indeed feels better and 'snappier'. Not on BF3's level yet, but hopefully they can get there. You premium guys should have a go! :thumbup:

EDIT: To go a little bit more in depth, the two major differences I noticed are that, first, you don't die instantaneously nearly as much as in the main version. You have time to go prone or even to return fire without dying. And second, death behind corners are less often. I think those are probably because of the faster tickrate.

I gotta say, this is getting me pretty excited for BF4 again. Hopefully we can get some nice maps on Dragon Teeth, and that coupled with a bug free patch of the main game should make some people come back to BF4. If you are out there and given up on the game, wait for them to patch it and try again!

Yeah, Im thinking exactly the same, but at the same time I completely lost any faith I had with DICE.

And another thing I read is that apparently, they're claiming that the CTE "Netcode" is the best they had in the whole franchise yet.

They have a timeline for patches which goes with the DLCs, probably because of the Consoles.
Thats why CTE is only available for PC, where they can update without going through Sony/Microsoft.

Theyll always claim its the best. What would you expect? If they say its not as good as BF3 people will want then to 'fix' it to BF3 level.
Patrik bach claimed the current netcode is better then BF3.
