Health Testing Feedback Thread

Post by matsif »

Today in the scrim we tested various values:

-Firestorm was 100% HP 100% bullet damage (normal)
-Caspian was 80% HP 100% bullet damage (removes 1 bullet to kill)
-Propaganda was 100% HP 105% bullet damage (reverses CTE patch change)
-Pearl Market was 100% HP 80% bullet damage (adds 1 bullet to kill)
-Nansha Strike was 100% HP 100% bullet damage (normal)

Personally I don't really care, although I prefer the bullet damage tweaks to the health tweaks as the health tweaks bug out and show you with 126 HP.

Can we please have a poll with multiple choice?
I'm fine with anything but 80% bullet damage but no option conveys that.

Edited. All users can select multiple options and revote now.

I voted for 100% and 105%, but to be honest I am more inclined towards the regular 100% for everything. Gameplay seemed fine. Didn't see a big difference with 105%

I liked both bullet damage variants. It's weird I know, but both 105 and 80% damage felt better than 100.

I would just stay with 100% on all for the sake of simplicity. The difference was minimal and sometimes not apparent. I speak from my experience during the scrim.

Me too. Having the same model as most public servers is IMHO a big plus.

And there are 2 main reason it's not that different than before:

* It makes no difference if somebody uses the defensive perk. Even in point blank it would be a 5 body shot kill or 3 body shots and 1 head shot pre patch. Sure, there is the minor case where a 2 head shot kill is now a 2 head shot + 1 body shot kill, but that's hardly relevant. Even pre patch you did not know if you needed 5 shots, and I guess most people ran defensive.
* The damage drop of starts at 8 meters. At 8.01 meters you have the same 5 body shot/3 head shot kill as before.

Probably alone in this point but I feel the TTK in normal BF4 is too low as it is now. I'd go for 80% bullet damage (or less) and then the person with better aim will win over who saw whom first. One can wish...

Other than that, the amount of trades I had in Caspian with the 80% health was ludicrous, it felt like every other kill was a trade. That and the 126 spawn health makes 80% health borked.

The current damage model is better, to me, than before the CTE patch so I see no reason to take a step backwards with 105% damage.

I'm happy with 100% health and 100% damage though. Plus, it's what many people play in pubs (when they aren't playing HC with 60% health *shudders*).

Some members of my army mentioned a desire to test the top two health/damage settings on both the EU and NA server. That way we don't attribute to the damage model what can be attributed to latency and poor infrastructure. So I would like to propose that we test this out on next week's scrim. I'll post this on the TA/HC or supporting members forum if that would be more appropriate.

Yeah, I'm with Cog on testing this again. The NA server is so wonky for me, I really can't tell if the ttk is different, because many of my hits register (I get hitmarkers and the guy flinches) but don't do damage.

Forum is being weird. It's posting my comments twice and now I can't even delete it because "someone has replied to the comment"
