BF4 Fall patch + New map rolling out tomorrow (Tue)

The Fall Update will be deployed on Tuesday, October 27th across all platforms with the following downtimes:
• PC: Multiplayer will be offline for 1h starting 08.00 UTC / 1.00 AM PDT.
The Community Operations DLC will be available for download according to the following schedule:
• PC, Xbox One & Xbox 360 at 12.00 UTC / 5.00 AM PDT on October 27.
For those in the dark this is the community map (aka Operation Outbreak). It'll be downloadable via Origin the same way as Zavod Night was and not part of the patch itself.
Please download so it can be incorporated asap to the map pool.

Secondary Weapon: Laser Guided
Damage against laser designations has been corrected. Lock range has been increased, except for jets.
Laser designated now no longer onehits aircraft
Laser designated now can properly track and hit fast moving ground targets
Fixed issue where some laser designated missiles did not track properly at launch
Lock range for designated missiles increased to 650m from 500m
Reduced lock time to laser designations to 1.2s from 1.5s
aaaaaaaaand...
Laser designators lock on time reduced to 1.5s from 2.0s
PLD lock range increased to 500m from 350m
Errrrmaageeeeerrrrrd... BAN SOFLAM & PLD plz

ENGINEER CHANGES
General
Removed the ability to use lock on launchers in vehicles (dumb-fire launchers is still allowed).
Vehicles are supposed to be able to get away from infantry, this was made nigh impossible when engineers could use lock-on launches from vehicles.
No javelin/stinger/igla from helis/rhibs/rcb/quads/bikes/open jeeps or what does it mean???
also this:
Objective Squad: Squad leader replacement
Targeting inactive squad leaders, we integrated the Hardline solution with some tweaks to the setup to promote active squad leaders
Squad member requesting an order triggers a cooldown of 30s which if left unanswered swaps the squad leader role to the requesting member
Attack
orders now no longer automatically convert to defend orders on objectives after capture
Better not be requesting orders from now on on battledays

I like a lot of stuff that they did in the patch like making the 25mm cannon on the ifv usefull against infantry again, improving the mbt speed and acceleration(especially for the abrams which really needed it) and changing the angle multipliers for the boats and ground vehicles.
But there's also some really stupid crap in there like the stiglas being a 2hit kill and eventhough they brought back below radar it's only for vehicle lock-ons and it ignores the stiglas which is stupid imo.
I'm hoping that some of these changes aren't going to be as bad as they sound on paper as they completely overhauled vehicle balance , but I'll have to wait and see how it all plays out tonight

They fixed that scouts can 'dodge' stingers by making them pass the door, though.

so... C4 received some changes with the patch, however... found this on battlelog forums (for you cairdazaar )
l just did some testing on the test range about the resuplying of c4.
The ammo box refill 3 c4 in about 24 seconds (i.e. commander ammo supply box)
1 ammo pack can only refill 3 c4 then it disappears.
1 ammo pack refill 3 c4 in about 22 seconds
2 ammo packs refill 3 c4 in about 14 seconds
3 ammo packs refill 3 c4 in about 6 seconds
l just did some testing on the test range about the resuplying of c4.

one stinger do 55% demage to AH, ecm and flars reload faster 12 or 13 seconds, befor 21, TV is faster, gunners gun reduced splash demage DICE

Does that mean it just doesn't have splash now, because it's been so fraking low that there almost wasn't any regardless.

No big deal for me, this is a meat-grinder metro/lockers nerf, when you are support just but a ammo bag on the jeep and you have resupplied by the time the armor is dead. With recon you have 6 blocks anyway so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ZebraPeps wrote:so... C4 received some changes with the patch,
It is more sad that you can't get the 3 armor kills anymore but that so seldom happens it don't matter much.
BTW you can now unlock the bow just by picking it up on the outbreak map
