Starfisher predictions TAKE IT TO THE BANK
1) Homing pigeons to take out aircraft - release your pigeon-bomb and watch as it relentlessly chases Loa around the map
2) Auto-aim sticky bombs for taking out tanks - worked for Company of Heroes, it will work here too.
3) Seventy five melee kill animations with fighting mini-game - street fighter in BF? fraking confirmed
4) Dirigible artillery - no AC-130? No problem. Bombard your friends with impunity from the safety of a hydrogen filled balloon
5) Networked wind - networked water was THE feature of BF4. How do you improve on that? Watch trees sway in sync. Magic.

Nailed it!

I don't want to get caught up in the hype train but it's difficult not to get excited at the trailer.

I'm (fondly?) remembering the BF4 launch. Hopefully the BF1 (feels weird) launch will be better.

I'm pumped. I think this signals more of a return to roots, which I'm beyond excited to experience.

Well crap, that looks cool as hell. I still wish it was some sort of Scifi theme, but this trailer certainly got me hyped. Looking forward to playing support with WW1 battle armor lol.

TO THE BANK

I cannot wait to scream GAS GAS GAS over squad comms. I hope that's one of the default callouts. And that you can call it constantly.

I'M BACK BOIS.

This pleases me. Not only am I a huge WW1 fan, but the setting also gives me hope that they will turn down the dumb gadgets and unlocks a bit. No more jets flying around at a snails pace while UCAVs are raining from the sky.

I'm still not preordering or buying on release after the last release fiascos, but if it turns out to be somewhat stable, they have my money.

Also, regarding the concerns about trench warfare being boring. By the late-war stage, which is clearly where this game is going to be set as can be seen by the generous use of the tank and the A7V in the trailer, German stormtrooper tactics combined with the British and French figuring out how to utilize tanks introduced the combined arms warfare that would later define WW2 to the western front. And that's what makes Battlefield great!

I'm also happy that they haven't forgotten about the Ottoman Empire. And there seemed to have been a few mountains in the trailer as well, so I'm looking forward to the Dolomites campaign as well.

So, to summarize:

I think I'm going to hold out judgement until I see some gameplay footage (or some moron playing the game which they will pass as gamplay). I just hope it isn't scripted to crap like the Battlefront one.

Also, my money is on the blimp being on rails because being able to actually fly the the would be too much fun :(

I think I need to change my underwear

Please god, if your listening, give us flight physics like we had in BF1942 so flying a plane is fun again.
