I am disapointed that neither the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland nor Great Britain, nor England are on the list of countries for sign in. Thus I am now from Holy See (Vatican City State)

Well I would say that anyone who wants to play VS can go on Mattherson.

There's also a 3rd US East server now (Jaegar). I suggest picking NC for one of them, and TR for the other. Waterson will have more outfits than Jaegar, so if anyone wants to join an outfit outside of GC as NC or TR, then we should play their faction on Waterson.

Other than that, someone make a poll and when we group up on the GC TS we'll primarily play as that faction, and sometimes as the others?

played the game for like 2-3 hours just now, and I must say im woefully unimpressed. I spent 90% of the time actually looking for a fight, a lot of which was just walking across giant open deserts. I know im probably doing something terribly wrong, but it took me ages to actually find any fights.
When I did finally get to a point that was being fought over it was generally 1 side having wayy more dudes there than the other side, making it super easy or just spawnrape. On top of that you constantly run into these mechsuite type things, which you as a normal dude cant do crap against. I got in about 10-15 actual equal 1v1 gunfights in 2-3 hours.
The gunplay seems decent, but its so flasy that I cant really see crap which annoys me.

Ill probably play it for a few more hours to see if I get into it at all, but so far im not really liking it. I wonder if im just doing something wrong. Whenever I die, I seem to only be able to spawn on a few green dots within like 3-4 hexes of where I am. meaning that if we lost the point or if we were assaulting a point, it literally took like 5-10 mins of walking to the actual fight before the fight happened.

You want to join a patoon when you get on. If they are organized, it will allow you to spawn on theyr sunders and be in the heat of the action. You also want to get vehicules to travel large distances. Grab a quad bike, lightning or reaver (for NC) as they are fairly cheap to get)

Its more about controlling the spawns. As attacker you have to have enough spawn options. And as defender you have to kill those spawn points. There are no tickets, so you dont win by killing soldiers, but by denying them to get to you. Or by keep spawning till you overrun them.
Thats why actual teams are even stronger than random pubs or solo rambos. Still, I had fun fighting alone yesterday. Didnt achieve anything (capture bases), but killed quite a few enemys. (Need a new graphic card before i can join the big battles...)
I got in about 10-15 actual equal 1v1 gunfights in 2-3 hours.
Don't know if those are going to be equal fights, but you can join bigger battles by airdrop via the map. With an 30min cooldown you can use the "deploy" button to get dropped into a hotzone. You can also see activity on the map. White flashing for activity and on the left side i believe it says, "enemy spotted in this area", "enemy squad spotted" or "enemy Platoon spotted". Depending how many there are.
There were some problems during the beta, but now the airdrop into the hotzone should bring you to the fight.

I'm on Woodman too (DaFi) and just made a VS on Mattherson (DaFFi), as it seems to be the GC US Server of choice. Probably wont play on US Server until I get a new Graphic card though. Highping and low fps issnt to much fun...

Have a TR on Matherson I play with my friends about 10 of us at most but with just 3-4 of us we were able to start taking a point that was barely defended and our the Zerg showed up to hold it just before the enemy came back. Best thing to do is take the spot where the enemy spawns so they have to waste more time to get there and defend. A lot of pubs don't defend because you don't get a bonus. When you help Capture a large base (forget the names: Bio Lab I think) you get 1000xp Bonus.
Name is the same as on here ZientMazza we play mostly evenings (eastern time).

Also if you don't want to spend time trying to figure out all the basics go on rivaLxFactors youtube channel he has like 10 8 min videos that explain pretty much everything.

The xfactor videos are actually the 'official' PS2 tutorial videos.

But yeah, I've spent the last two nights playing PS2. ~8 hours solo, basically entirely as combat medic. It can be really annoying to find a fight, but they're getting a lot better. The new heat map view is really useful, we just need a way to see a friendly heat map.

My basic advice is to just find and follow the zerg. To get there: Galaxies at the warpgate, or liberators/scythes can be used as fast transport. If you see a lot of blue triangles, voila you've found the zerg. Preferably you'd get into an outfit, as then you can make the fight rather than need to find it.

I spent 2 hours last night fighting over a random tower on Indar (Crossroads Watchtower). When I arrived TR had all 3 points (we owned the base). We managed to retake the point inside the tower shortly after. Someone got a sunderer spawn deployed by another point, so we overwhelmed that point, and stopped the bleed. The battle continued on in the tower though, with the bottom floor filled with TR, and light assault flying onto the tower. When we finally forced them out of the tower and took the third point, I got killed by an NC light assault. What followed was about an hour of assaults by large NC and TR forces. At one point we had a huge NC tank column attack us, and it was basically just a massive light show on the VS side. You'd see 6 or so RPGs fired off at a tank. Eventually we pushed them away and started leaving the base, where we ended up fighting up a gradual hill cleaning up stragglers. Turns out these stragglers would become a large zerg with a sunderer spawn just on the other side of the hill. It was the coolest fight I've had so far in PS2. ~50 guys on each side, a few MBTs in close support, and we were basically playing king of the hill. You'd push to the top of the hill, shoot down the hill, get killed, and they'd counter push and take the top. It went back and forth like this until we took our their sunderer. From there we pushed down the hill and started assaulting the crown.

The persistence aspect of PS2 is really cool in this way. Where a successful defense doesn't feel arbitrary, where you win by forcing the enemy back, and it never really 'ends', since it's a continual push all the way back to their base (in this case the crown).
