I haven't been playing Planetside long, but observing this turnover has been funny to me. For the past 6+ months all I've seen is people whining about things not getting done, recent changes breaking the game and the powers that be not giving the game enough attention. So a new company buys them and shakes it up by trimming the fat- letting go of a dev team that the community has been whining isn't getting things done anyway. One of the fired devs even agrees with the move. I'm not saying that I'm optimistic about PS2's future, but I do find the recent develops comical:
"We want change!"
Big shakeup.
"Oh no! Not this change!"

There's a difference between trimming the fat and gutting half of your already small dev team. I'm avoiding writing a wall of text, but at best this is a dumpster fire. You don't drop all of your creative direction and the main people communicating with the players without negatively impacting the game. I could be putting my foot in my mouth by not having any more faith in the game, but until $medley proves otherwise with a new team this looks to be the start of PS2 going the way of Star Wars Galaxies: taking a unique game and burning it to the ground and hoping money comes out of the ashes. Until a new team is announced the game is basically in limbo and nothing is going to get fixed, and there is absolutely no reason to believe that what comes will improve upon what is there.

RIP PS2, you were the closest game to what BF2 used to be in the current gaming market.
