GG to all, the TA's won.
Re: GGs
This feels like the end of a football game when you were a kid and you were told to go shake the other team's hand as a show of respect, but they spit in their hand first.
Frankly, for all the work that went into making this campaign balanced and therefore fun via many close rounds, it simply wasn't there most of the time. Agreements were not held up, there seemed to be a general unwillingness from multiple parties to work together, mistakes were made that went entirely unacknowledged until way too late, and it finally hit its breaking point yesterday.
I always try to find 1 good thing to look back to in a campaign, and try to do this for every campaign. To me, there isn't one of those in this campaign. There isn't a moment that I can look back on and say "That was so funny I still laugh about it" or "wow I played really well that day and it made the difference." There was just too much of people being angry with one another over reasons that should have never been issues in the first place, and too much unwillingness of certain parties to even listen to other parties without interrupting them mid sentence to tell them why the 2nd party was wrong and the 1st party was right.
So, I'm glad this campaign is over so as a community we can attempt to cut away all of the BS this campaign had, and can come back with something better for BF4.

GGs UN, and thanks to everybody in SCAR who showed up and worked hard every week, especially Necromancer, who pretty much ran the RISK show for us.
The things that I'll remember about this campaign were some specific turning points where I thought I could finally say, "hey, maybe I'm an alright FC," like our 5 ticket win on Bandar in week 5.

Agreed. Air Force was simply not fun. With the certain parties refusing to interfere while agreements were broken and ignored every week, causing multiple people to ragequit, it is a miracle that some people even stuck around till the end.matsif wrote:This feels like the end of a football game when you were a kid and you were told to go shake the other team's hand as a show of respect, but they spit in their hand first.

By the end, many people had gotten the impression that the TAs wanted us to lose, even implying that we should surrender to make it easier on them. This was not a "GG" campaign. Not even close to it.
Re: GGs
GGs! I'm finally part of a winning army after 1.5+ years of being on the losing side. It's too bad I wasn't available for the last half since I'm not home.
Congrats to Calloutman and the HC for keeping the army well put together and leading us to victory!

that was the secret to our success...haruky wrote: It's too bad I wasn't available for the last half since I'm not home.
I've released all C6 footage i had. from the first Oman/California attack to the last Firestorm round.
Youtube sucks at organizing, categorizing and searching of videos (why can't you make more then one channel to categorize your uploads?) so i made a playlist for BF3 C6.

I feel that it is deplorable that you had to face such issues this campaign. Rest assured however that most non-HC people here had no idea what was going on, and I find it an unfortunate accusation when you say that the people in this thread have "spat in their hands before giving you a handshake". I agree that this discussion should be taken to a different thread and I am disappointed that you had to take it out on the regular players coming to say GG, and even more so to see a GC veteran act in such manner.matsif wrote:This feels like the end of a football game when you were a kid and you were told to go shake the other team's hand as a show of respect, but they spit in their hand first.

My sincere GGs to all, I am very sorry if some of you did not have fun, and I sincerely hope that it will be fun for both sides in BF4.
Re: GGs
Agreed with both Matsif and jddes. There were a lot of problems this campaign, which sucks because we tried SO hard to balance it. That said, let's not take it out on the players who just showed up, played the game, and had fun. If anything, let's make this a TA/HC thing, or a Supporting Members discussion, since those are the members it directly affects.jddes wrote:

I for one, had some fun moments this campaign. Like killing jd during the 2nd round of Caspian last Sat, for example. Or the 2 ticket win we had on Alborz 32v. It might not have been perfect, but it wasn't all bad.

It does suck I get promoted the day BEFORE we surrender or was it a Good Thing So I'm not privy to the full extent of the issues we faced on this campaign.BlackIce wrote:Agreed with both Matsif and jddes. However, and I'm going completely out on a limb here, maybe the community isn't the same as when the Risk rules were introduced. Maybe the community has different motivators.
But I do want to make one request: Can I please, please, please, pretty please, be on the other side of JD's M16 next campaign.

Re: GGs
Maybe GC needs to look at banning Gentlemen's agreements between HCs again if its creating bad blood. This thread should be about the positives, and if need be, make a separate new thread on the negatives.
While I did not participate much this campaign, I still participated in several battles where the last few tickets went either way. Yes some weren't so close. Many players were willing to swap and make the day fun.
GG.
