I just got 2 gigs of ram (threw out my old 768mb) and I LOVE it (big thanks to everyone who helped me pick it out). The improvement in everything is huge. For the first time, I can alt-tab BF2 and do all kinds of other stuff. I could even run two games at once. And everything loads faster.

Putting it in took 5 min, but then when I turned it on, I got a blinking amber power light and it wouldn't turn on. I got worried I had shorted the whole thing somehow, and I looked around and ppl said it could mean a failed PSU or mobo. Then they said my AGP card could have come unseated so I put i...

Hi Charger, You'll need to buy SF to play that map (it's worth it!) SF will be part of C3, but it won't be a big part. Probably around 1/4 of maps will require SF. Other maps will be original BF2 maps or custom maps available in a map-pack that will be coming out soon. Let me know if you have any ot...

Well I can play on it now at 1024x768 with about half of the stuff on medium and half on low. Would a better video card substantially improve my settings?

Yea ideally everything I get could be moved to my next system. I'm sure the RAM would be transferable, but it hadn't occured to me that AGP would cause problems there. Good to know. I'd planned on keeping this comp for another year or two if it can take it, with upgrades to keep it going. Is that re...

Thanks for all the info guys. I ended up buying the Corsairs and they should ship by tomorrow. I got the pair of 1GB 400's, and I'll put the ram I have right now in an old comp. Now I wonder if I need a new vid card  Right now I have a 128mb Radeon 9800 (not Pro). I'd like to get something ...

It seems like the stuff I have right now is pretty much crap. Should I just toss it and get new stuff? I'm looking at this:

I have 768 crappy ram with a 9800 Pro and a P4 2.66. The levels take a little while to load but once I'm in I play fine. I have some settings on low but most on medium.
