There's a platform near each of the main structures in both maps. You can land on them and press F to get out. There's a bug that makes landing hard though, the landing gear goes a bit mental. I'll upload a clip of how to do it later.

I finally managed to get out on the platform. That last image of the 300i on the platform... so good!! Also if you're in third person view from the front (the second view that lets you see the ship from the front), you can press "page up" and it'll allow you to rotate the spaceship with yo...

Basically press Ctrl+F to decouple the gun tracking from the flying.

After a little practice I'm getting better. I'm using a joystick in my left hand and a mouse on the swivel guns with my right hand. Haha, it's the middle of the day here.

It took me ages to realise that you have to pick up the helmet from outside the ship to actually get into the simulation.

I agree that I don't want to cut myself off from legit forms of gameplay, that said, piracy does sound awfully fun . I guess we'll have to see how things work out and how the ingame mechanics of bounties/reputation function.
