Idk, man. I think a greater punishment would be to make someone watch episode 2 six times. 1 may be story wise pointless and have an overly long pointless pod race scene and a character that managed to supplant Wesley Crusher as the worst sci fi character in history, but it at least is from a technical standpoint an okay movie to watch. One can only take Hayden's crying and soap opera angles of two people talking in front of a green screen so much. I could also argue the Darth Maul vs Obi Wan duel is probably one of the better fights in cinema it's just unfortunate its in the Prequel trilogy.

Please don't make me watch the scene where they roll together through the plains on naboo again.

To be honest I don't remember much of the prequels. Maybe I repressed those memories. What I do remember is that after watching episode 1 I left the theater pissed off as hell. I couldn't believe I actually paid to watch that travesty. The only way I could bring myself to watch it again is like this:

Yeah...it's one of those moments in movies where you gladly get up to find more beer or take a piss WITHOUT pausing

Gwynzer wrote:The Adywan Edit of EpIV is certainly better than the any of the later Special Editions. I can't recall off hand, but does it show the scenes at Tosche Station and Biggs Darklighter in the Arywan? If so it's maybe a skip.

If you own EPIV in any (DVD/Modern) format the Adywan Edit is legal to use and share with others that have EpIV. I can also provide a link if you wish.

she likes to date older men...but seriously young Spock.

Damn Jokerle thanks for the heads up, otherwise I would still be talking about Star Trek.

but no seriously, the original trilogy (4-5-6) then go back and watch 2 and 3 until right after the final lightsaber duel. skip 1 and the ending of 3 as they are horribad.

and don't forget the greatest piece of film ever created, the star wars holiday special.
woke up this morning, put on my slippers, walked in the kitchen and died

4 - 5 - 6
then 1 - 2 - 3

Because when you allready know what is hapening in the end, its really interesting how Anakin is evolving into .... ;)

I literally cried at the end of episode 3 because i think it was (imho) a great conclusion and a great connection towards episode 4. And my Childhood movie was over. I thought.
Then came disney.
Oh god..

I actually have that. Bought it at a convention I went to. Still find it more enjoyable to watch than Ep. 2. If only because it's so bad its actually good kind of way.

Hey, Seeing Chewie Gramps get all flustered over his virtual 70's "porn" machine was hilarious. Plus it had Boba Fett, not being a little kid crying over his dead father.

I actually don't mind that Disney owns it. I still have faith in JJ Abrams movie making skills. I'm still convinced Into Darkness was just a slap in the face of all the hardcore star trek fans who claimed the first reboot film wasn't star trek enough so he made a movie of references within references just to facilitate more references to troll the trekkies.
Plus he's not rebooting Star Wars so he has no excuse to rehash some event that is dependent on another event having occurred that didn't occur. Or transporters that magically change their rules depending on how the story must be moved forward. He also films on location when possible and actually builds real sets unlike Lucas. So it should be fine.
