Memory Troubles

Post by DaGrooved1 »

During a scrim or something tonight I was having some really weird bugs, all my textures and text were turning black at random, and whenever I'd switch weapons they clip would always be empty and I'd always have to reload, I'd take a screenshot but for some reason everytime I press print screen it tells me there isn't enough memory to take a bmp. Anyone ever experience this before?

I'm hoping it won't happen again as I've never experienced this before. Made shooting somewhat seizure inducing.

ive never had that exact problem before but i did used to have quite a few graphical bugs which was solved by changing my RAM timings. Turns out i should use the correct ones rather than my guessed ones :P

Check your task manager when your getting not enough memory error. How much is Total, Limit, Peak under Commit Charge? and whats your total physical memory?

Yeah that's what I was doing, I couldn't find anything wrong with my RAM usage, but I noticed when I started BF2, I had 1.5gb of free HDD space. and when I quit I had 6gb of free HDD space. I was just playing a bit this morning and the problem never reappeared, I took some screenshots just to make sure, so hopefully it was a one time thing.

You should run BF2 more often if it does that to your computer.

Since I came back July 5th, BF2 has been acting weird, occasional high pitch screams, and the usual once every other day lockup. I'm overdue for a wipe and clean re-install of win xp as its been over a year, just holding off...
