- nvidia 8800GTS
- athlon 64 X2 4600+
- 2x 1GB RAM
- nf570 M2/G
- drivers are all new

problem is... when i play BF on medium or high graphic quality, there are big dots like this

Image

what can i do to remove that dots

note: when i had nvidia 7600GS there were no dots

Well with his specifications he should be able to play BF2 with everything on the highest settings.

how long has this been happening? If it's only starting to do this recently, and before everything was okay, then it could be a bad sign that your video card is going bad.

Try updating video drivers? http://www.nvidia.com

Try cleaning bf2's video cache? Delete all the files in My Documents > Battlefield 2 > mods > bf2 > cache. Only problem is that it takes forever to load in the next time you do (optimizing shaders, boo)

Get the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com

If not then as suggested delete the graphics cache, then try a full re-install.

Overheating wouldn't cause those kind of graphic glitches. The pc would crash or reboot.

That's not necessarily true. If it was overheating though you would get artifacts that looked different to those 'shadows'.

My suggestion is to try turning off all shadows in the BF2 settings.

Its a graphics problem then. Delete the cache and update your drivers and you should be able to run it on high.
