I still think a massive EOD bot race would be fun!

Capture the Jeep sounds fun.
RPG, or at least frag allowed once the jeep has left the area (to stop it).

Rambo - gonna suck for anyone who dies.
Zombie - well, they should use only pistols or something...
VIP - how do you "capture" a player? or escort him?!
racing - karkand also has lots of vehicles, urban style.

EOD TDM!
Ideally the jeep will spawn at whatever flag is being used as a base.

Mortar run

32vs32 Clean SV98 shootout. What i mean by a "clean" SV98 is no attachments at all.

Ghoul is working on a BF 1942 install package. A BF 42 battleday could be fun!

Permadeath mode.

In this mode, noone gets to respawn. This way, we could recreate some of those awesome close battles we had, like the one on Gulf of Oman at the start of the campaign.
Vehicles would also be interesting. Since e.g. a jet would respawn, you would actually have to pick up downed pilots and return them to base. (Maybe make the Venom a MEDEVAC chopper that you're not allowed to shoot)
I love this idea, but it would suck for those who die first. Perhaps there can be a time limit of some sort?

I also like Rambo mode without permadeath. There could be a squad of Rambos (can use any weapon) vs. 60 police (pistols only). Rambo squad needs to capture a specified flag before they run out of tickets.

Rambo squad gets only like 10 tickets vs police with a 100. first one to draw the tickets to 0 wins.
that can also lead to the "no spawn" situation.

I think the whole no-respawn thing was really fun yesterday. We played 2 CQT assault maps, Karkand and Sharqi. The attackers had to capture all the city flags (excluding E,F & G on Karkand and F & G on Sharqi), while the defenders had to defend those by killing all the attackers. We played w/o unlocks, so everyone got only the default guns and there were no revives.

The big urban maps with only about 8 players made it really intense, since you never know when you'll be ambushed, all you know is that it is going to happen. The fact that you can't even be revived makes it even better. Snipers are lethal (although people are limited to the SVD & Mk11) and can lead to some really intense moments. We had times where CallID was pretty much the only one left of the defending team, sniping, and we didn't actually know where he was, until LoA finally took him out.

We should definitely reapeat this. Urban maps are really great for this, but i'd also like to try some stuff with vehicles.

It was indeed really fun to play. However, as someone who died very early on, it was a bit of a drag to be able to do nothing for the last 10 minutes. I wish there was some sort of spectator mode in this game.

Perhaps we can leave unlocks on but only limit using default weapons so that we have access to the MAV?

It could also be TF2 or L4D2 or other games being played alongside BF3

We played some Bolt Action only no straigt pull 2v2 TDM last night after everything had died down. Very fun to do, might be something for another funday :3

Further thoughts:
Zombies was fun, I didn't get to play it for long though
Shotgun only - meh, not too fun imo
VIP mode was pretty awesome as well

Also, I'd love to do some regular Rambo mode, it seems like so much fun :D

Yeah, it was great fun and pretty intense. Especially those close encounters when we started circling each other and jumping around

I thought maybe next time we can try bolt iron-sights only (WW2 style)

What about a training day? I know I'm not as good of a pilot as I could be, and there are plenty of others who would love to get some tips/practice with infantry or armor. Maybe we could have a few good pilots (LoA, CallID, etc) take some small groups onto different servers to work on some basic air techniques (follow-the-leader, dogfighting). Then have some armor guys (zorplex, daskro) do the same with armor (maybe tank superiority?), and then some guys with infantry. I'm just considering the fact that once C4 starts, everyone goes back to their normal divisions -- I'd like to learn something new while I can. Plus it just makes the campaign so much ore fun if everyone is equally good at BF3.
