I've been looking forward to this release. If there is enough interest we can pit ourselves in a friendly war against the FH guys as soon as this Sunday so we can try it under competitive team oriented conditions.

So download as soon as you can and we'll see what we can do about getting it setup on one of our servers upon release.

The mod is awesome. If you loved bf1942 you'll love this. Trust me.

These guys have put 2 years into this mod and it really shows in the gameplay. There are some huge maps (ArmA size stuff) and small infantry-based maps, assault style maps, everything you can imagine. The tanks are way different than the simple vanilla tanks, and actually take more than one person to effectively use. The Stukas are loud and obnoxious as they should be :P, and don't expect a revive when you go Rambo. The team has really worked well with the flexible coding and its worth the download.

This is FH2's major competition. No doubt they will have a large supportive community. We have to set up a time to play it.

PS: If you bunnyhop, you're dead. Hopping and diving doesn't work well with this mod. Try it first, before you add salt and Tabasco.

It's hard to get "owned". You actually need an ounce of patience and skill to hit anything with the astounding recoil (esp. PPSH) when compared to the lack-luster weapons in vanilla BF2. And don't forget, eastern front means bolt-action rifles.

I would just like to see people play with honor for a while before they turn lamer and equip their Moon Shoes.

Why do I bother...
...download, play, and enjoy.

That's OK! It's a BF2 mod :)

Here is an overview of how to use the new system for armor and air. Good stuff:
