Anyone know when Battlefield 3 is coming out?

gribble might know. But to not get too exited, BF3 most likely features only a few maps and therefore (imho) will not be such a big thing.

Thats the heart of it. A flash in the pan, thats all you get. When BF42 came out, it too only had a few maps, but it was an exciting new experience. People were willing to overlook the lack of content. Hell, I played the hell out of wake during the beta and loved every moment of it besides the lag and crashes.

Now adays, FPS is an old game with better eye candy. Did it, done it. Content in today's games seems lacking to me. Even when they do puppy mill out content/maps, the players will say they hate half of them. The crucial part is they killed the modding community. When a group of talented people didnt like something or thought they could improve... they could (after struggling with the nuetered tools). And the player didnt have to purchase anything more. BF1942 had the wildest mods and most people regulary played 2 or more mods. Star Wars, Pirates, Desert Combat, Eve of Destruction, POE, FH, BG, GC and even some of the road warrior mods.

There's still lack of real information, PreOrders of MoH (10-2010) will get Invitations for BF3 Betas...prolly BF3 doesn't hit the stores before October 2011 i think...

Wow! who was that guy?? He was awesome!!

Ash2dust is right. The ability to mod the game MADE this community. It is going still, in my heart and many others all over the world. It was truly an honor to have been a part of it.

What can we do about contacting the developers? Any chance the engines will allow the level of control we want?

Easy: we put down some $$$ and than go out there and buy EA .... than we can tell them to do a moddable version for us.
