building up a (small) streaming channel [please vote]
Added vote! Please vote on which day you will mostly likely have time to regularly join pub games. I'd say around SBT. NA folks probably wont have time during the week, i know.
I would like to get a public-play GC streaming channel going.
I believe that from the small (initial tiny) audience we can get a small (constant?) flow of new recruits.
My idea is that we use one twitch channel and share it among the streamers.
Concept:
- a set time/date once a week for public gameplay.
- have at least a full squad present in the stream
- Showing teamwork would be the main goal, but it is just about having fun
- one guy of the squad has to stream
technical side:
at least one guy must manage the main account (I can do that). All willing streamer will be added as "editors". They can manage the dashboard from the GC account from their own account.
Note: This is not about making any money. No donation system or partnering with twitch.
What do you thing about that?
Who would be willing to stream?
Who would be willing to play pub on a set date?
Any idea for a set time?

Re: building up a (small) streaming channel
I mean, one can stream more often not just once, and also spontaneously, but to build up an audience it is best to have a set time (like a tv show).
Sunday evening (something along the line of SBT +/- 2) would be a good time for many of us, i guess.
I am also not sure how long the stream should be. Maybe a minimum of 90mins or so?

Re: building up a (small) streaming channel
streaming GC members play on ranked servers?
or stream GC members playing on BD (happened before with agreed on delay time to avoid spies)?
the 2nd option will be great, and will get the result of players
getting the idea that GC kinds of game-play is the way BF is played to max,
and how it supposed to be played.
a guy shared a vid of 4 guys screaming in rush ranked game
with bad comms, but they had 4 people with comms,
so he said this is how the game is supposed to be played.
if he was playing on GC, knowing what is being put into
a BD, for CC comms, pracitce, tactics, risk system, TA's (this is live this meow)
he will be like people getting religious when up till
then they worshiped EA or whatever.
the point is that the 2nd option
will show people GC, and what's great in it, and how sucks to be
part of those who still think ranked gaming is all what BF got to offer
(plus worshiping satatn).
the 1st option is just not so unique, and I really dont see the point of it.

Yes, this^Digz wrote:streaming GC members play on ranked servers?
We already have some people streaming at the BD. (or had quite many).
Streaming the BD on the "official" GC channel is also a good idea. Interaction with viewers is much harder, while doing this, though.
One can change the POV (aka streamer) after each map, i guess, so you see maybe tankers, infantry, air, etc. Could work and is good thing we can do additionally.
Many bf3 streamer play more or less on their own. They stomp the noobs and whatnot and that's fine. GC could instead showcase squad work and just present itself as a friendly community.
Presenting the community, answer questions with the viewers, let them join our TS and such things.

I think Fields created a GC twitch account to stream the squad rush tournament. You can ask him the credentials!

This is the GC twitch account: http://www.twitch.tv/globalconflict
I can help with streaming. This is my account: http://www.twitch.tv/undrt0w but most prolly I will be more active for BF4. Now, I pub rarely and when I do, its early on the weekend.

Re: building up a (small) streaming channel
I did, but it disappeared somehow. I think twitch removed it because of inactivity. I'll make a new one and do a simple design to make it look pretty. PM me if you guys want the stream key & we'll work something out.mrBLUE9 wrote:I think Fields created a GC twitch account to stream the squad rush tournament. You can ask him the credentials!

Yeah, it will be difficult to get many people playing for BF3. Better to start setting up all technical stuff and try out how the sharing works exactly to be ready for BF4.

Re: building up a (small) streaming channel
I agree. I use OBS to stream. As Fields said, we will need the stream key but I have no idea how that editor thing works in twitch for managing the dashboard. Problem is, I can't really sit in front of the computer for the next 30 days

Re: building up a (small) streaming channel
editors can set up streams (title etc) just as if it is your own.
Enter stream key in OBS, go to your twitch account and access the GC dashboard from there.
