Death Race Tournament (Sept. 7)

Hey everyone, I have the pleasure of announcing the first official GC Death Race tournament. This event, to be held on September 7th, is being organized by Fields, matsif, and myself, and will feature the dirt bikes from the End Game expansion.

You and a buddy will race along a predetermined course against up to a dozen other teams on the snowy fields of Sabalan, golden plains of Nebandan, woody hills of Kiasar, and over the jumps of Riverside. The first team to finish--or the last team alive, will be declared the winner.

The only weapons permitted for this event will be C4, mines, RPGs, explosive crossbow bolts, M320, M320 LVG, M320 Smoke, and the repair torch. Additional information regarding rules, racecourses, and procedure will be posted in the upcoming days. Mark your calendars now, and see you on the race day!

courses and such should be done no later than Wednesday, September 4. The organization team is ironing out some bumps and with people gone this weekend due to Labor Day in the US.

Fields and I will be flying overhead in order to stream the event. Anyone that cheats will find themselves on the other end of a guided missile.

i don't think we'll cheat on purpose...
i guess most participants will see the course for the first time 2 min before the start, from past experience i don't expect everyone to remember it perfectly.

i think it should be a simple circle without unnecessary complications in the middle.
run it for several loops instead.

agree, looking at the map the routes seem complicated. Unless you will find a way to mark the route somehow simplifying would be the best.

you can mark like real racings with more people on server,
chopper goes a bit ahead of the racers group and they follow him,
vodniks parked to block paths near turns. and people standing aside too
to mark junctions etc. would join, but i think mines and maybe c4 too are a bit too much.
M320 and rpg will keep it epic and playable.

My initial plan was just to mark out waypoints with mines and do warm-up laps before the races. Sign up everybody! The more people we have the more fun it will be.

I signed up, but I mostly want to spectate. Get some good footage to play around with
