Peace, but will it last?

Peace, but will it last?

Last weeks announcement by the G20 coalition of governments to dissolve the corporations of Dark and PRIDe was welcomed by most people around the globe as it brought a cessation to the hostilities. The peace pact, as the politicians are calling it, removed the corporations CEO's from power and issued a warrant for their arrest, citing war crimes against humanity.

However there still remained the question of the companies assets. Whilst PRIDe expended huge resources into the war and had very little left, Dark thrived on the war and topped the globe as the worlds richest company as its stocks soared. Many a disgruntled shareholder had to be appeased with the companies dissolution. But how?

STAR, a small and relatively unknown drinks chain has somehow managed to acquire a large number of the assets from these dissolved companies, including their shareholders, finances and potentially most important, a large amount of equipment. This company seems to only have one agenda, have everyone drink its coffee. But with a sudden injection of cash and equipment the question has to be asked, is peace safe?

It's well known that both Dark and PRIDe sub-contracted several companies, and that with the dissolvement of both companies a lot of sub-contracts went unpaid. A lot of questions remain on whether STAR now has a legal obligation to complete these contracts. One company, Gladius, is being more vocal that the others in making sure it gets paid for its soldiers commitments during the PMC war.

With so many questions unanswered a lot of people are still on edge and the focus will definitely be on the two CEO's of Gladius, Arcturus, and STAR, StarfisherEcho, in the coming months.

Weird, I was almost certain I had signed up for the officer draft. Oh well I guess, I'm not going to have a lot of time anyways.

Most folks in the draft weren't actually drafted (we had 40 signups). This is an initial crew, everyone else will go into the regular draft and generals can make them squad leaders, or FCs, or whatever else they want.

We didn't invent that, but your signature does match our army profile.

Ah okay - The impression I got from last campaign was that everybody who signed up was at least assigned an army, although I see why that wasn't the case this time.

I was under the same impression as Henidhor. Anyway, do those not chosen for the core officer group still need to register in the General Draft? When it's posted, I mean.

Also, any word if the battleday/medal-tracking part of ABC will be up and running for C4?

The TAs will no doubt be explaining the process fully, but the quick answer is that if you aren't in an army yet, you will have to sign up for the standard draft under your preferred role (air/armor/infantry) regardless of your signup for the officer pool.
