It works for infantry where the difference isn't big, and even then they made the soldier model stand higher and lowered the point the bullets come from a bit.
There should be consistency between what you see and what actually happens, just like when being shot you want to see the actual model of the player shooting you turn your way and shoot you, otherwise its "how the hell did he hit me he didn't even look at me". Same reason they patched dusting, so you wont see a hit on a vehicle when you actually missed even though "its game mechanic" Its visually inconsistent.
the difference with tank shells between what you see and the actual hit is ridiculously off.

18 months after release only 14% of BF4 buyers are still active... but that's still 3.7 million players.

yeah, unfortunately people bought 25 million copies of this crap.
Not a surprise they continued down that development road and gave us Hardline.
Making gold out of garbage.

Situation seems quite bad for Hardline which numbers since launch just a month ago have dwindled by about 50%. Visceral Games GM Steve Papoutsis has bid the company goodbye after 15 years there

I think 14% of players is still pretty impressive after 18 months these days.

That's over 1 in 10 people keep playing a game for over a year. I can't remember the last game I played for that long!

I'm guessing it includes consoles.
I don't own a console so i don't know if it works the same when your only gaming platform is a console.
Interesting to know that same ratio by platform.

I agree, it's actually not bad as player retention goes and 3.7 million is a pretty good base of players for any game (though I'm sure that population is split between PC & 4 consoles). I'm sure the execs love it: no need to support 86% of the people who gave them money. Unfortunately they're going to have a really hard time selling 25 million copies of the next BF release (as Hardline has proven).

I think that if the upcoming content additions (especially night maps, community map pack, etc) are done well it could give this game a nice long lifespan. But most of the players were alienated in the first year and now new games will edge BF out of the market. If they'd open it up to modding & player-made maps, a good portion of the population would probably even come back or a new community would grow around it.
