Spectator on Battle day

I just joined the TS and was waiting for a match I could participate in. I thought I might as well spectate, to see what's going on, like who's winning the current round, and to pass the time.
I was told though that it's not allowed on Battle Day, is this true? I just want to confirm it. Didn't want to spy/cheat or anything, just wanted to pass the time.

Hello and welcome!

There is usually a stream to watch and spectate: http://www.twitch.tv/globalconflict

I think Robawillis is streaming!

Yes, it is true. Spectate is reserved for TAs and casters. It's to prevent the risk of ghosting. As King said, there is a delayed cast often on twitch.

I stopped streaming because I had troubles with FPS drops in the past. Now, things are smoother so I will start streaming again. This will be via the official GC twitch channel linked above. So, hopefully next time if you are idleing you will be able to just watch it.

Twitch has a new service called "host" where you can host someone's else channel in your own. If people want to do that they can just type in the chat: /host globalconflict and it will start streaming GC's content in their own channel.

I stream most battle days. There is a post at the top of General Discussion that list all the people that stream.
