That's a ridiculous argument. One can say there isn't skill involved with automatic weapons. Just hold the left mouse button while holding the right one(can skip this part). Both are just as spammy one just requires more work by the user.

Honestly, under fire from an automatic, a DMR user almost has to spam because DICE's insistence on Random bullet deviation to "represent" suppression. Not that I'm justifying spamming DMRs. I only do it when I'm being rushed by multiple automatics at once as at that point I don't really have the luxury of aiming as I'm probably dead anyways.

For the record, I wasn't really overreacting... that much. My previous post was out of frustration of hearing the community(not GC, BF4's in general) claim DMRs are OP. If they were there would be a significant change in my K/D when I use DMRs over when I'm not using DMRs and honestly it's about the same regardless what I'm using. FWIW if GC chose to ban them I would accept it without further question and still play.

The point is that we don't want a gun that can spam one shot kills.

Max damage for any DMR as far as I am aware is 45. With a headshot sure that brings it to 90 which if we lower to 80 is a one shot kill but I mean... thats a head shot. I'd hope that would be a one hit kill. Any other part of the body it is literally impossible to have a one shot kill unless we are talking about lowering health that low in which case... I don't think there is a single weapon in the game that won't feel OP...

I can do that better with a bolt action or shotgun.

I don't mind if DMRs are in or out...only part I find op about them is the sound they make.

sniper rifles (NOT DMRS) will be limited to 1 per team.

I'm sorry, but I have to disagree with you.All competitive players will understand what I meant by saying spamming semi-automatic rifles.I don't think you can jump like a rabbit, spam like a wh*re and carry 15 kg equipment + 3,5-5 kg DMR rifle in your hands. In addition, if some retarded noob catches you with his shitty SKS unprepared, your chances to survive are pretty low; almost impossible, because, like Corran said, this ''weapon'' kills you instantly.I can always be a fa*got and play with this machine of b*llshitness and pretend to be ''skilled'' ,but I don't find it enjoyable and challenging. In BF3, there was a HUGE difference between beginners,casual,semi-competitive,competitive and professional players.I don't want to start flame wars why Battlefield 3 is better than Battlefield 4.I will just say that you really had to have balls to play well with the assault rifles. The skill bar difference between these player categories in BF4 isn't as big as I would like to.However, the rule is still valid and applicable.

I am going to have to ignore the connotation about myself in that rant. and again say that same argument can be applied to automatic weapons. You get caught unprepared you are going to die regardless what the "noob" is using. Unless he's completely incompetent at aiming entirely in which case does not matter what he was using. No one said a thing about bunny hopping. And I'd refrain from mentioning the BF3 comp scene in a discussion with me because I participated in it for a while and M16 Assaults all around do not make a balanced competitive game by any means. Well... I guess it was balanced since everyone was using the same weapon but still.

Anyways, I've said my opinion on the matter. It gets banned, it gets banned. Doesn't change my ability to play any.

I assure you that in BF3 you can escape from every situation thanks to some ''dodging'' maneuvers . You just need to be competent on what you're doing. You mentioned M16. I'm sorry, but AEK wasn't bad at all. In some specific combat situations it was even better than the overestimated M16A3. Everything depends on what your style is,how good you are, and whether you have the will to improve your aim with the weapon or not ;) .Regarding the DMRs, I guess I was clear on what my position is.

imo no reason to ban DMRs if the HP limit gets lowered. but I'll support whatever is decided.

biggest reason to ban DMRs is to get rid of the SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK SMACK noise.

OKEY, this has gonne a little bit too far so let me clear this up.

After mentioning DMRs we came to the conclusion of testing them with different HP settings not only because of its 1hk potential at close range, but also a lack of knowledge in the damage multipliers that get applied to different guns and body parts.

One of our main doubts was the chest multiplier for DMRs. I suggested that we needed to test that in order to prove if the chest multiplier was x1.0 or x1.25. What this means is that, if HP gets lowered to 90% or lower, a DMR could kill you in TWO shots ACROSS THE MAP. (36x1,25x2 = 90)
We tested it, and we're almost sure that that's NOT the case, apparently DMRs have a x1.0 multiplier to the chest, which would mean you need 3 shots to the chest (MIN damage) to kill someone.
Another thing is, with 80% HP, a DMR headshot would leave you in 8% hp AT ANY RANGE, and as far as I know, we don't have auto-regen in GC.
This was a minor confusion because some people left before we (Gonzo and I) ended the first test.

So please stop arguing (in a bad or agressive way), we're gonna keep testing this in the next battleday as I mentioned before. (I think)
We don't want 70% of our community running with the same type of weapon but at the same time we want to balance thing a little bit more, make some other guns more useful and at the same time, keep the GC-mode of settings, which is (or was) a mix between normal-core and hard-core.

Thanks.
With this I don't mean to speak for anyone on the TA or HC team for any army, just telling you what happened.

Thank you for clearing that up Hgx.
By the way, if any of you want to continue this discussion, last I remember this thread (http://global-conflict.org/viewtopic.php?f=309&t=23866) was made just for that.
