I'm just gonna call you Dotty from now on.Sup wrote:sup. Only Shrap and Cheesy call me soup, its because...they like soup. Shrap is my gen anyway, I have to let him. I might start calling him Shrek and then maybe he will understand how I feel.dsfarcturus wrote:That's what I realised over time. The problem is, though, that "Arcturus" was already taken in Origin, as in most other sign-ups. So I tend to use the nickname "arc." whenever I can to eliminate both the pronunciation issue and being called "FARC"..Sup wrote:dsf in front of your name confuses me, I think I shall change it to gcarcturus
How do we actually pronounce your name? Some say "soup" and other say " 'sup"...

Yob Yeknom = Monkey Boy. One of my R/L nicknames. I don't know why they called me Monkey Boy. Maybe because I used to jump around and act like a crazy monkey. I have a tattoo on my upper right arm of a bunch of Barrel Of Monkeys monkeys falling out of a barrel and messing with each other, especially the male and female monkey. Mwahahahahah!
If you don't ask, the answer is, "No."

Re: How did you thought of your forum nickname
The story of my name is long and complicated, so I shall do my best to keep it somewhat brief while hitting the important parts.
I started playing online long ago in a galaxy far far away. I went through many nicknames during the days of Kali WC1, the original Team Fortress, Battle.net, and UT. Then came Mechwarrior 4 and yet another new nickname - Turinisk Vanipar. I used that for MW4 for quite a while, until I was recruited into a Mech clan that ran in tournaments through the old Microsoft "Zone". Because of character limitations I could no longer use my original nickname, and thus I became known as DG_TV. Shortly after this my clan leader asked me what the TV meant and in the process he guessed TacticalVirus. I liked it a lot, so I made it mine in pretty much every game I've played online since.
This nickname has the dubious distinction of having been used to blow up a truck full of Fedayeen Saddam in the initial invasion of Iraq pt Duex. That same clan leader was also an E-5 in the 101st, and couldn't come up with anything better to write on his 84s, so where others were writing the classics, he wrote "84mm Tactical Virus".
So there you have it. I didn't come up with it, a nerd in the 101st airborne who was a MechWarrior 4 clan leader when the U.S. invaded Iraq for a second time came up with it, and then proceeded to write it on the side of a recoilless rifle round which he used to blow up a few Fedayeen.

Re: How did you thought of your forum nickname
My forum nickname is my gaming username.
The story behind it goes back several years, back when I played Goldeneye and then Perfect Dark on N64 against my buddies. So much swearing and constantly being called a Mother F*cker for kicking their butts.
For a while playing Halo, I was Fragmaster because I was an expert with placing grenades exactly where I wanted to. Obviously, this led to some name calling, so eventually I adopted MotherFo. This also resulted from my buddies mom getting mad at him for always screaming Mother F*cker at the top of his lungs. So now, he could shout MOTHERFOOOOOOOO! (which is what Haruky does now [8 is also my fav number])
So Mother Fo is the long version of MoFo and short version of Mother F*cker.
Obviously, my name hasn't always been accepted in the gaming community, so sometimes I would switch it up to FoTacTix, FoNaTicAl. Darn...christian servers...in Mature games...where they constantly swear
For a little while we had a little clan/squad going and Fo became what was attached. Jobo was dubbed Jobo Fo, and Morgan was Moe Fo. (F)orever (o)ne was the meaning that we decided on.

When I started playing online the first game I played was MOH. As I am of Prussian ancestry and my leaning to play as a German all the time it was Von in reference to the Prussian lineage and Krieg for well what it means and _ because spaces were not allowed in the old days .

I always used to be "man" in fps games (when ever I could) but when BC2 came out the name was taken so I chose tehman and decided to keep it since.

Re: How did you thought of your forum nickname
My Nickname emerged from the shadows when some of my friends and I were leaving Nova Rock 208 ( a Metal/Rock Festival in Austria ) and recapping the past days. In a crazy mood we ended up translating everything into Latin; dont ask me why, I cant remember. We went on to translate some bands into Latin, like Linkin Park (Parkus Linkii) and then my favourite Band Machine Head (Caput Machinae). So I loved the sound of that and so this went on to become my Username in most of my games.

All the other nicks that I wanted were taken, so I just punched in Mr_Hattu. I also like hats, so it is a win-win in the end.
