Texas tornados

So I'm at my step sisters on my phone. F3 hit my town last night and power is out supposedly until Tuesday. No fatalities here bit 6 dead and more missing in a town a few miles away where an f4 hit. No pictures since the badly hit places are blocked by police and Mt phone died during the night. But hiding in the closet with two dogs and a cat was sure fun.

Lots of trees down and my back fence were blown down. Roofs and Windows blown out a few blocks away. Lots of traffic from service and emergency vehicles. Anyway, I probably won't be around for a few days. Lol

in the closet?
I don't know what your house is built from or its layout, but hiding in the bathtub should be safer.
and for earthquake endangered places last i heard the "command" was updated to run into the kitchen, open the fridge and stay in-front of it until it passes (in case you can't immediately run out)

are going to look for your windows ?

seriously though, how are the damages refunded there? insurance companies? do they do a lot of problems with it?

Tornado Alley - where tornado season is year-round. Glad to hear everyone's safe on your end. This year we're not scarred down here by any tornadoes but we've come close.
Stay safe and I hope everyone comes out fine.

Long day of clearing limbs. Spending the night at my step sister's. On my laptop now, but power still scheduled for Tuesday. (And it's starting to get warm, having no AC suuuuucks)

As far as I know, it's best to go to a basement or storm shelter but most homes in TX don't have those. Next best is to be in a central room without windows on the first floor. Our bathrooms have exterior walls and windows, so the walk-in closet was the best option.

Most tornados hit between April and July. This part of Texas isn't part of "Tornado Alley" so they don't here nearly as often. But because the DFW area has so much more population density than places frequently hit by tornadoes, when they do hit, they can cause more damage. The last time an F4 hit this area was 1994, so big ones don't hit here very often.

I didn't realize you were in Texas. I have family in Granbury; luckily they are all okay and didn't receive any major damage. Glad you missed the worst of it.

Seeing all the videos from the tornado that hit Oklahoma kinda brings this home a little. Glad you were okay.
