Who else plays?

Was talking to Slicey about this not too long ago, finally snapped some pictures of the guitar I have on layaway, just waiting on my next paycheck to pay it off (damn being financially responsible!)

Waiting on Washburn's Customer support to get back to me, but it seems like this is an incredibly rare finish. There was anywhere between 50-300 Idols built with a Pearloid Amber finish as a special run for a single dealer, and that's fairly easy to find on the net. So far, the only pictures or references to a Pearloid Blue finish are ones generated by me (This and one other picture I took are the only ones on the web of a Washburn in Pearloid Blue).

Me. I haven't touched an electric guitar in years. Planning on getting back to it in the summer.

I only took two of my ladies to the czech republic. My other stuff (including a metallic silver Musicman bass is still in Germany)
I play e-bass though I wanted to learn/play guitar as well. I can do some basic stuff but I wont consider myself a guitar player.

Lady Amsterdam (a Fender Jazz bass Road Worn series, bought in Amsterdam for a crap load of money:

And my swedish beauty, a Hagstrom Super Swede. Just lovely.

oh indeed!! so lovely! that guitar, so polished and everything...beauty!
if i ever learn how to play the bass i will definitely get a jazz bass. btw do you guys know any self-learning materials that i can use. i know youtube is pretty famous but i want something for the total amateur. i have a book but a visual stimulation will work better for me.

tac for 400$ this looks like a great deal! have you tested it or there is no way to do in the pawn shop?

Get.a.teacher.

Seriously, at least for the first few months get a teacher. After that you can do self-learning.
The bad habits that come along without having a teacher will take very very hard work to remove.

I took lessons for 3 months and then did self-learning. After some years I took lessons again....man, I was messing up the basics!
Music students are often quite cheap teachers if normal music schools are too expensive (In Germany, once you are counted as 'adult' you sometimes pay sooo much money, it is robbery)

Anyway, modern self-teaching books come with a DVD where some dude will show you how to hold your hands and stuff.
I only know german books, though...
Quality of those books differ a lot.

I seee. Well, I went to a music school 3 times and each time I had a different teacher. It wasn't expensive but kinda unprofessional. But the school is made by a bulgarian metal band so, I guess that's what you get :)

I will try and find some independent teacher that can come to my place. My sister took guitar lessons that way.

Thx for the tip :)
