But yeah, this is the third king that died on his watch. He killed the first one, f*d the wife of the second one and was the father of the third one. (And the fourth one.)

if they merge the "important" parts of 4 and 5 together as they basically happen simultaneously, next season could also be really epic. both of those books had a lot of strange filler in them, but also had some really great parts and the cliffhanger at the end of 5 left me really wanting for book 6. since there are already elements of both books 4 and 5 in this series so that you can keep track of some characters, I'm expecting this to be what happens.

if they try to make books 4 and 5 their own seasons, people will get bored of the series. there's a whole lot of unnecessary filler in both of those books that really could have been split out.

I haven't got to the wedding part in the books, but from comments I think they crapped all over it in the show. Supposedly it was a truly epic wedding.

Eh I think they did fine. Sure it wasn't an hour long and they didn't actually show 77 courses, but I'd rather they not blow the budget trying to perfectly render GRRM's obsession with food and clothing. Save it for the other amazingly awesome crap that goes down this season.

I have to agree. I read the comments before watching it and I thought it the whole episode would be about the wedding...thankfully it wasn't! After all, who freaking cares about how big the wedding was
