im looking for a free program to convert quicktime files into one of the following types preferably wmv. .asf, .avi, .m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, .mpeg, .mpg, .mpv2, .wm, and .wmv

Have you tried Rad Tools?

Bink(bik) and Smacker(smk) video encoder. Convert your video to an exe file with builtin player. It can also convert Quicktime MOV to AVI / DivX.

Post a search for media utilities that are shareware or have a trial that allows you to save your results.

Try: mp3 converter, .mov conversion, ect.
