Lost My Voice! (resolved)

Well okay.. maybe not my voice voice.. but my mic's gone dead, apparently?

I'd like a double check from the folks I was pubbing with on Tuesday, since I think it happened then. When we first started on the Pink Panther server (cVetko was squad leading at the time, on Karkand I think) -- you guys could still hear me, right?

After an hour and a half of playing or so, I quit BF2 and was preparing to leave. I tried to say goodbye to people and madcow kindly pointed out that no one could hear me. Doh!

So it kind of seems like my mic died while playing BF2 at some point, but that doesn't make sense to me. I've tried playing aorund with my sound settings and figuring out what's going on, but I can't seem to get it to work. I've been testing the recording on MS Sound Recorder (simple little thing in the Accessories menu) but to no avail.

Everything is plugged in (yea, I checked). I tried both my frontside and backside speaker plugs as well. I checked the mute buttons all over the place (on the headset and on the computer), and I checked the wires for cuts/kinks or anything abnormal. Nada.

Is there something I'm missing? Or did my mic randomly die halfway through the game, for no apparent reason? eep!

Hmm, got everything covered that I can think off. Seems its a random dead mic.

Maybe you ran over your wires with the chair? You've gone deaf?

There's no physical damage that I can detect on any part of the wire, mic or headset :/ I'm going to test my stuff on a friend's computer tomorrow.

I can still hear out of my headset, so I don't think I'm deaf ;)
