BF2 crashes on startup

Tried everything except reinstalling which is next step I guess, I was playing thursday and a soldier appeared before me with red name above his character so I assumed he was enemy and ran him over with the jeep I was in, evendently he was friendly cause the friendly dude riding with me jumped out and resed him, but I didnt see him res him just saw that he had jumped out so I had gone back to pick him up and I seen the enemy again so I jumped outa of jeep and shot him then the dude resed him I thot he had been resed by the enemy so I shot him again and was instantly baned by pb for 1 min for tking. Since then I havent been able to start up bf2, guess pb screwed me. Anyway may not make it sat so hope u all have fun.

Possible fixes.
Clear (delete all within so it creates them again) your My Documents/Battlefield2/mods/bf2 folder/cache/.
Create a new profile in game (uses default settings). If the new profile works, you'll need to delete the offending one and re-create it.
Update PB manually.
Dont use programs that lock video refresh rate.
Worst case is you have a virus/spyware or possibly hardware problems. Scandisk harddrive. Re-install game (after uninstalling).

Back up first of course.

thanks, I just reinstalled it now it works but my special forces and poe dont how do I reconnect those or do I gota reinstall them too? At least Ill be able to play the vanilla maps

Re-install SF and then re-apply BF2 1.41 (latest) patch again. Then do all the POE's.

Hmm as i would to join the NA Server i started SF and become BF2 no way 4 me to join.

Can i use the CD from my Buddy and use My Key?

You can install it from buddys CDs/DVD and than use mini image + deamon tools and thats it.

I think he used his sfx dvd and just noticed that his bf2 vanilla dvd is broken.

My BF2 and SF CD/DVD is unreadable, to many scraches on it. :rool:
I will install it new and i used an Image from SF in history.
I hope i can fight then tomorrow.
