5s are the most common competitive mode. You can split squads up however you want, 3 and 2, 4 and 1. As for the tournament,I too think 5v5 is the preferable game mode. CQ is more familiar to most around here.
And I'll sign up as a merc as well. I think there are enough to form a couple of teams depending on the decided tournament format.
