watch the twitch stream already. Nothing staged there, just much 'fail'

the thing is EA is notoriously known to not meet the expectations.
why pre-order so early then? you can always pre-order. you could also get the limited edition after launch from other websites and sometimes at better price.
if they don't get as much pre-orders as they expected they might postponed it a bit and actually meet our expectations.

by pre ordering it right away you encourage that "i don't care if its full of bugs, make sure it released on time" behavior. blindly supporting a developer who didn't hold to its promises time and again. the scandal over Simcity only few months back shows EA has not improved at all over the years.
so why not wait? you won't loose anything, might put some pressure on them and get a better game for once.

I'm not saying anything about pre-ordering here.. personally I have never pre-ordered anything! I was just a bit tired of hearing "oh the destruction is pointless and I don't see how it lends itself to the game". Hopefully this time around they do fix the issues that they have in the beta. Other than that, all I can say is that i'm very excited and can't wait for the Beta :D

Necro, drop the anti-preordering bandwagon. It's our money which we can spend it how we like. You've made your point and Its valid however stop going on about it. Its getting massively annoying now.

I've said it many times and still saying it:if you don't like a game, don't buy it.Pretty simple, isn't it?
We're having a discussion about the same thing in my clan's forum. The 'veteran' players hate it and spam tons of crap like 'It's the same thing. Why would you spend so much money about BF 3.5 version' .It's just stupid.Like Sao said, these are our money, so we will spend them how we like.

well from the other side, buying just cause you can
simply look stupid too.

our teachers at school seemed stupid too when they tried to
tell you: knock off with the games...
now look where we are, are, are...argh.

point is the more you act like excited biber fans,
the more necro is getting mad about
money being wasted, when children in Africa are
hungry for their own ranked servers etc...

EA will look how many pre-orders there were for BF4 and they will evaluate DICE for this.
It may surprise you that I think DICE does a good job and I want to support them.
Pre-orders are a huge thing in the gaming industry and for the dev studio.

that is the exact reason to not pre-order it right away.
You can do whatever you like Sao, but as a GC member you should know you're not alone on the battlefield.
just like rep monkeys sacrifice so the whole team can win, so should you.
as long as everyone keep playing individually, we, all of us, not just you Sao, will get a lower quality product then we should have.
and i do plan to buy BF4, just like you.

What am I reading...

Necromancer, it is very rare for games to be delayed once the launch date is announced, especially when marketing for the game has started up. Some developers delay their games because they aren't ready but this is always before a final date is nailed down and promotional material is released. The only case I could name that might be an exception was the Half Life 2 delay. To delay a game that is already had it's date announced, promotional materials released and advertising budgets set in place would be financial suicide. It isn't going to happen no matter how many pre orders are not placed. Besides, I don't know why you would want this to happen unless the game is fundamentally broken which, by all accounts, isn't the case. Just what would you say warrants the game being delayed?

Digz, I don't know what you were trying to say. If you are suggesting that spending money on a game is a waste... on a forum about said game... perhaps your time would be better served on forums that aren't dedicated solely to the consumption of said game.

EDIT: This no longer seems to be about BF4 and instead about the philosophy of pre-ordering. I don't usually pre-order games but I'm not going to debate this since I consider it off topic on this thread. That said, to suggest that someone who pre-orders a game is supporting an inferior product than someone who buys the same game at launch is just.... insane.

To make you think a little: CG started out as a BF42 tournament. As you are most likely well aware of, GC featured did play basically all the BF-games out there, always moving along with our player base
Spoiler: show
that totally and basically each time went for the latest game of the BF-franchise - surprise!
Now make a guess, what will happen with todays BF3 player base - provided BF4 is somewhat playable. And while you are at it, what GC will do as a consequence. Hint: are we still playing BF42 at GC? (while it would surely be total coolness to play BF42 with the new graphic engine, all the detail possible nowadays and the amount of maps we had back than, droll!)

Putting the sarcasm aside; you can prepare to be part of a GC BF4 tournament running VERY soon after the release date - unless the game is even more FUBARED than anybody could possibly imagine considering EAs involvement.

It's going to be fine, it's not like Bethesda is developing it

I'm a bit concerned about the battlepacks. I hope they implement it like tf2 where you get stuff for playing and not for scores.
Otherwise you get all kind of grind servers.

Was thinking that the battlepacks dont really change anything except that you have to work with the same crap (guns, perks) without change for longer. That is if i interpret the way they are going to be used correctly.

There was a ~6 hour livestream yesterday with random people playing (32vs32) at E3. There's also a few videos on youtube with people that's been recording while playing there, and it looks fraking amazing to be in pre-alpha.
