Update fixes some problems:
  • The user should not be able to pick up deployed aa mines at any time.
The user should not be able to equip aa mine together with rocket launchers .
Firing 2 javelin missiles in a sequence should remove the first one from the world.
Joining a high ticket TDM/SQDM sound after 100 kills should not trigger EOR sound on clients.

They updated the notes! Hopefully this will make playing with air vechicles more fun.
  • Javelin damage has been reduced from 34% to 30%
  • Active Radar cone on the Ground Active Radar Missiles has been reduced from 5 degrees to 2 degrees
  • Reduced the resupply time of the Flares from 25 to 20 seconds
  • Reduced the resupply time of the ECM from 30 to 25 seconds
  • Increased the resupply time of Active Protection from 30 to 35 seconds
  • Bullpup weapons with 1x sights should now all properly benefit from increased movement speed while aiming down the sight
  • Increased the damage of the CBJ-MS all ranges to better balance its low rate of fire
  • Reduced the direct damage of the Attack Helicopter Zuni rockets as they were slightly too powerful after the last adjustment - as a result that last increase has been toned down to 50%
  • Increased the side to side recoil of the AWS to balance it with other 800 RPM LMGs and keep its unique firing behavior
  • Reduced the damage of the FIM-92 Stinger and SA-18 IGLA to 35% from 45% against Scout, Attack Helicopters and jets
  • Toned down the helicopter flip caused by FIM-92 Stinger, SA-18 IGLA and Starstreak HVM-2 impacts

Increased Active Protection?! WAT THE FACK MAIT?! If you're going to increase the resupply time, give us back the f*cking normal reactive armor.DICE,think a little about your tank driver fans please...

i don't think its going to matter much.
Active protection is very situational. you fire it at the right moment. I don't remember ever sitting and waiting for the active protection to recharge like i'm in a chopper or mashing the X key to activate a consequential active protection mid-fight. If i have enough health i'm on the hunt, if i don't i'm repping. 5 seconds increase is irrelevant IMO.

Reactive armor was "ok" cause we had a mobility impediment once we reached >50% health. Now you can maneuver after getting a couple of hits. Overall tanks are fine, except for the low splash.

Plus: they should fix the effectiveness of the other countermeasures, but that´s more a general problem with lag.

I just want the old BF3 smoke on my tank. Using it like a squid to escape was great.

Oh well. Javelins have been nerfed. Basically all of my concerns balance wise are gone (regarding tanks that is).

Now we just need adequate netcode. And patches that don't break crap.

regarding these changes, and having the "updates" on the what weapons do or don't do pretty regularly, do you guys agree that we reconsider and update the weapons bans after each such "patch/fix"?

It may make it confusing for the less active forum readers to know which weapons are allowed on the batlleday if it will change on a monthly basis, but then again a patch can significantly worsen a situation in regards to making a weap which wasn't banned "OP" or nerf a usefull weap which was banned before.

I dont think anybody has announced what weapons will be banned or not.
Weapon Bans:
Infantry carried Laser Designators
M2 Slams
MBT Laws
SUAV & UCAV
Active Radar Missles
DMRs to be analyzed
Not much to discuss there , maybe slams and mbt law , they are the only thing whose function has changed

battle pickups

the active prot increased reload is really inconsequential. I wanted to rage when I saw it, but active protection taking 5 seconds longer to reload is not a major worry for tanks. If you have to pop it you're usually running away anyways to avoid getting disabled and thus dying. Net effect is minimal, there are other issues for vehicles than an extra 5 seconds on that reload.

What they need to do is buff the other countermeasures to make active protection less used overall. Currently there's basically no reason to not take it once you unlock it.

the other changes all seem to be for the better.

AA mines been nerfed, now that you cannot equipe a launcher with it i doubt anyone is going to use it instead of a stinger/igla (which have much more rockets too)
I would allow that.

I don't understand why they keep nerfing the stingers instead of buffing the attack chopper. Is it a technical difficulty?
It only makes the little bird+reps more and more OP.

buffing it will have bigger unforeseen consequences than nerfing weapons used against it so its much safer.
