Community Update - 2/13/06

Listen up soldiers:

We have some great news for you regarding the upcoming patch. 1.2 is in the final stages of its release cycle. This means you need to keep an eye on this web space for further info and a release date.

I want to extend a huge thanks to our community for helping us grasp the issues that have made your gameplay less than optimal at times. We are very happy with the improvements in this patch and sincerely hope you are all pleased with the work we’ve done.

Coming very soon to a gameserver near you, the one and only BF2 patch 1.2! Tomorrow is a good day to patch! The patch will be available at 18:00 CET this Tuesday. An incremental and a full patch will be ready for download!

EA allowed us to present you the changelist: http://www.battlefield2.nl/changes-1-2patch.jpg

As soon as the patch is released, it will be available at: ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/
For European customers, i3d.nl has setup a 1000mbit mirror at: http://files.i3d.nl (1000 mbit download mirror)

Possible release tomorrow. I'd recommend not installing it until after Tuesday EUBO and NABO battles.

We may also may need to keep ICG aware as the last patch took a month(?) before the ranked server was updated.

I found this tagged onto the end of a TotalBF2 Interview done today with DICE.

Mines can no longer be destroyed with other explosives

Server setting to allow friendly fire to be off on mines without affecting other weapons.

Detonation radius from grenade launcher explosions has been reduced.

Reload while sprinting has been enabled
i dont think these changes will make the game better, infact i think they will make it less fun to play.
they might seem like small changes, but think back to how u play and when these changes will affect u.[/quote]

I reload while running now anyway... (start reloading then sprint while you are finishing)

well, it seems to me they r trying to make it more realistic. if u tried to reload while sprinting u might find it rather hard. its not that easy while walking.

I've always done the same thing. Start reloading then sprint. Even if you're already sprinting you could always stop for a split second, reload and start sprinting again. Always worked for me.
