Is their helicopter game an actual simulator?

Yes

I was going to mention the Arma 2 option last week in the meeting, but it sounded like it had a rep for instability and/or unplayability. For the money I thought it was at least worth looking at. The heli flight mechanics are a lot of fun, very challenging. The infantry play is super hard for me in the single player mode. Guess I am use to seeing a giant flag that says 'here is the enemy' .

I got it my copy through steam. Not sure if that will make using some mods more or less user friendly. Many more queastions on this.
