EReg not working

After my reinstall of windows this weekend the "EReg"- REgistrition apparently is not working. I get a Microsoft error message and programs like my sygate-firewall keep asking to be registered all over again.

Any ideas how I can surpass this?

did you do a fresh install over a formatted drive, or a repair on a non working drive... etc etc...

sushi post that here and also the exact wording in google... that has helped me numerous times.
